Job summary

Allianz Technology is seeking an experienced Lead AI Developer to design, build and scale AI-powered applications, agents and automations across our technology landscape. You will connect LLMs to enterprise data via MCP and orchestrate AI workflows with n8n.

You will drive end-to-end AI initiatives from prototyping to production, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with security and compliance to ensure responsible, explainable AI adoption across Allianz Technology.

Qualifications

• 10–13 years of software/solution development experience.
• Hands-on MCP exposure to expose tools and data to AI agents.
• Experience with n8n or similar workflow automation platforms.
• Exposure to SAP SuccessFactors and HR processes.
• Working knowledge of ServiceNow and ITSM/ITOM workflows.
• Familiarity with GIAM concepts and IAM security.
• API integration, OAuth2, SSO, and secure design practices.
• Ability to define AI strategy and lead architecture discussions.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proven track record delivering full lifecycle software/automation projects and mentoring juniors.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Lead AI Developer with strong hands-on expertise in building AI-powered applications, agents, and intelligent automations, ready to design, build and scale AI-driven solutions across our application landscape at Allianz Technology.

You will …

• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered applications, agents, and intelligent automations that solve real business problems across multiple domains.
• Apply Model Context Protocol (MCP) and related standards to connect large language models and AI agents securely to enterprise systems and data sources.
• Use n8n (or similar workflow automation tooling) to orchestrate AI-driven workflows, combining LLM reasoning with deterministic business logic.
• Identify and lead AI-enablement opportunities across platforms such as SAP SuccessFactors, ServiceNow, and Global Identity and Access Management (GIAM), working with the respective platform teams.
• Own end-to-end delivery of AI initiatives — from prototyping and experimentation through to production deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Define technical approach and architecture for AI initiatives, evaluating build-vs-buy options, model choice, and integration patterns.
• Ensure AI solutions are secure, explainable, and compliant, partnering with Security, Enterprise Architecture, and Compliance teams on responsible-AI practices.
• Mentor and guide junior developers on AI engineering practices, prompt design, and workflow orchestration.
• Act as a technical point of contact for AI-related initiatives, engaging stakeholders across business and IT to translate needs into practical AI solutions.
• Stay current with the fast-moving AI ecosystem (models, frameworks, agent protocols) and champion responsible adoption across the organization.

Your Skills

• Strong hands-on experience building AI-powered applications, automations, or agents, with around 10–13 years of overall software/solution development experience.
• Practical understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP) and how to expose enterprise tools and data safely to AI agents and LLM-based assistants.
• Hands-on experience with n8n or similar workflow automation/orchestration platforms, used to combine AI reasoning with business processes.
• Exposure to SAP SuccessFactors, with an understanding of core HR processes and how AI can enhance them (e.g. intelligent search, recommendations, automation of routine HR tasks).
• Working knowledge of ServiceNow, including its workflow/automation capabilities and how AI can be layered onto ITSM/ITOM processes.
• Familiarity with Global Identity and Access Management (GIAM) concepts, with practical exposure to applying AI (e.g. anomaly detection, intelligent access recommendations) within IAM processes.
• Solid understanding of API integration, authentication/authorization (OAuth2, SSO), and secure design practices for AI solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to define technical strategy for AI initiatives, evaluate tools and models, and lead solution architecture discussions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, comfortable engaging senior technical and business audiences on AI opportunities and risk.
• Proven track record delivering software/automation projects across the full lifecycle, including mentoring junior team members.
