Job summary

Vertical Relevance is seeking a hands-on backend engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot. You will build microservices, secure RESTful APIs, and work extensively with AWS cloud services to deliver high-performance systems.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Java 8/11/17.
• Strong expertise in Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Proven hands-on experience developing microservices.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, API design, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, RDS, CloudWatch.
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL/PostgreSQL.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB/MongoDB.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and data structures.
• Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ is preferred.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
• Good understanding of unit testing and test-driven development practices.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and support automated deployments.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving coding standards and engineering practices.
• Collaborate with Frontend, DevOps, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Ensure backend services meet requirements for security, scalability, availability, and reliability.
• Stay updated with modern backend technologies and contribute to continuous technical improvements.
