Job summary

Thales India Engineering Competency Center is seeking a Senior Engineer / Technical Lead for Avionics Flight Display Systems. You will lead software development activities including requirements capture, design, coding, and V&V to deliver compliant avionics software within schedule and budget.

The role demands 7–13 years in BE (CS/EC) and deep expertise in Embedded C, RTOS, and complex system architectures. Collaborative AGILE environment and emphasis on quality are key.

Qualifications

• BE in CS/EC or equivalent with 7–13 years of relevant avionics experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop Platform & Application Software with a good understanding of complex architectures, scheduling, multi-threading and RTOS for avionics systems per DO178B/C.
• Demonstrate technical capabilities in software projects.
• Perform peer reviews of high-level specifications & development artifacts.
• Debug, fix bugs & enhancements on existing software.
• Perform development free-hand testing & regression on existing features.
• Ensure quality deliveries before hand-off to QA teams.
• Participate in AGILE team development while meeting deadlines.
• Contribute to deployment of processes, tools and metrics.
• Provide new product/lean-process ideas.
• Expert in Embedded C; strong memory usage, scheduling and execution time allocation.
• Strong in RTRT or LDRA or other testing tools; unit test language.
• Knowledge in data structures and database management.
• Experience on cockpit/flight displays and Flight Management System functionality.
• Knowledge of DO178B/C and MISRA coding standards.
• Write system specs and high/low level requirements and test definitions.
• Experience in avionics embedded software lifecycle.
• Knowledge of CM tools like ClearCase or Git.
• Knowledge about avionics protocols (A429, A664 – AFDX, RS232, ARINC653).
• Good organizational and communication skills.

Thales India Engineering Competency Center is seeking a Senior Engineer / Technical Lead to be part of its Avionics Flight Display Systems. The Senior Engineer / Technical Lead is in charge of the software development activities (Requirement Capturing, Design, Code and V&V), in order to deliver software that meet requirements coming from a Business Lines (B/L), with the adequate quality and maturity level, within schedule and budget.

Qualifications:

BE - Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication or equivalent discipline with 7 to 13 years of relevant experience.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Senior Engineer / Technical Lead, you will be a major actor in the software development phase using approach with C /Embedded C. In more details:

• Development of Platform & Application Software with a good understanding of complex architectures, Scheduling, multi thread program development, RTOS, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for avionics systems (Flight Display System) as per DO178B/C standards.
• Demonstrate the technical capabilities in software projects.
• Perform Peer reviews of high-level Specifications & Dev artifacts.
• Debugging, bug fixing & enhancements on existing Software.
• To perform Development free hands testing & regression on existing features.
• Ensure quality deliveries before hand-off to Quality Assurance teams for further testing and verification.
• Participate in an AGILE team involved in the development phases by respecting deadlines and contractual milestones.
• Contribute in the development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics.
• Provide new product/lean-process ideas and contribute to deploy them.
• EXPERT in Embedded C Programming Language.
• EXPERT in Memory usage, Scheduling, and execution time allocation.
• Good understanding of Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) and RTOS
• Candidate should be Strong in RTRT OR LDRA or other Testing tools Unit Test language & hands on experience in verification.
• Knowledge in Data Structures and Data base management.
• Good experience on Cockpit Display and Graphics, Primary Flight Display, Multi-Functional Display, Flight Management System functionality
• Knowledge in DO178B/C is required and Knowledge of Coding standards e.g. MISRA.
• Candidate should be strong in writing System Specification, High Level Requirements & Low-Level Requirements. Also Strong in High Level Test & Low level Test definition procedure & hands on experience in verification.
• Should have overall engineering experiences in software development of Avionics embedded system and experience in software Development Life Cycles
• Knowledge in configuration management tools like clearcase or git is required
• Knowledge about avionics protocols (A429, A664 – AFDX, RS232, Arinc653)
• Good organizational abilities. Good interpersonal skills, writing & verbal skills
