Qualifications

• 6 to 10 years of hands-on backend development experience with Core Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Strong experience with Amdocs Fallout Management (SKY) and integrations with telecom BSS/OSS products.
• Demonstrated expertise in fallout management processes and Dead Letter Queue (DLQ) management.
• Strong understanding of telecom fulfilment and order management processes, including Order Capture, Order Decomposition, Provisioning, Activation, and Fulfilment.

• Lead API design, event-driven architecture, service integration, and messaging solutions leveraging asynchronous processing and enterprise integration patterns.

• Act as a backend technology representative for Digital ONE and Amdocs solution delivery across business and technology stakeholder groups.

About this Role

We are seeking an experienced Backend Solution Architect with strong expertise in Amdocs Digital ONE, Fallout Management (SKY), telecom fulfilment processes, and cloud-native backend technologies. The role requires a technically hands-on professional who can bridge business and technology, translating complex business requirements into scalable backend architectures, microservices, APIs, and integration solutions.

The successful candidate will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Business Engagement Managers, and technology stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-performing, and maintainable solutions across Vodafone's Digital ONE ecosystem while supporting strategic fulfilment and order management capabilities.

What you’ll do

• Manage and optimise Amdocs Fallout Management (SKY), including fallout resolution, monitoring, and Dead Letter Queue (DLQ) management across integrated telecom BSS/OSS environments.
• Design, develop, and enhance backend services, REST APIs, and microservices using Core Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and cloud-native development practices.
• Analyse business objectives, functional requirements, and operational needs to create scalable backend solution designs aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical implementation plans, reusable services, and integration solutions.
• Lead API design, event-driven architecture, service integration, and messaging solutions leveraging asynchronous processing and enterprise integration patterns.
• Ensure backend solutions are designed and implemented in line with engineering best practices for performance, security, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Work collaboratively with application, platform, infrastructure, and delivery teams to establish effective deployment and operational models.
• Act as a backend technology representative for Digital ONE and Amdocs solution delivery across business and technology stakeholder groups.

Who you are

• 6 to 10 years of hands-on backend development experience with Core Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Strong experience with Amdocs Fallout Management (SKY) and integrations with telecom BSS/OSS products.
• Demonstrated expertise in fallout management processes and Dead Letter Queue (DLQ) management.
• Strong understanding of telecom fulfilment and order management processes, including Order Capture, Order Decomposition, Provisioning, Activation, and Fulfilment.
• Experience creating High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), solution blueprints, and end-to-end architecture designs.
• Strong knowledge of API design, service contracts, microservices architecture, and integration patterns.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, event-driven architecture, event streaming platforms, asynchronous processing, and message flow management.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD practices, Git, Maven or Gradle, and cloud-native deployment models.
• Good understanding of AWS services, Kubernetes/EKS, scalability principles, and cloud-native application design.
• Expertise in system integration, interface design, payload mapping, JSON/XML structures, and cross-system data flows.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, collaboration, influencing, and decision-making skills within complex matrix environments.
• Experience working as a Backend Developer with Product Owner or Business Analyst exposure, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
