Job summary

Kyndryl in Hyderabad is seeking a Power BI Migration Engineer to execute runbooks, move artefacts between tenants, validate outcomes and resolve standard errors with playbooks in a 24x7 factory setting.

You will support wave execution, perform post-migration checks, maintain evidence and ticket updates, and collaborate across shifts to ensure seamless cutovers and high-quality throughput. The role emphasizes disciplined documentation and escalation of issues, plus improving migration runbooks.

Qualifications

• Minimum exp- 7 years.
• Hands-on Power BI tenant migration in production.
• Strong knowledge of Power BI Service, workspaces, permissions, datasets, reports.
• Experience executing repeatable migration runbooks with evidence capture.
• Post-migration validation and resolving access/refresh issues.
• Shift-based environment with handovers and backlog management.
• Strong ticketing, handovers, and escalation documentation.
• Ability to work under time-sensitive cutover pressure with quality.

• Run validation for reports/datasets and complete functional smoke tests; document findings and attach evidence.
• Support refresh and gateway reconfiguration steps where in scope; validate connectivity and scheduled refresh behaviour.
• Resolve standard defects using playbooks; escalate appropriately with complete diagnostics.
• Maintain high-quality ticket hygiene and evidence capture per wave.
• Participate in shift handovers and ensure work can be continued seamlessly.
• Support reporting: throughput counts, defect categories, recurring issues.
• Provide hypercare support post-cutover, resolving incidents and contributing to runbook improvements.

The Role

The Role: As a Power BI Migration Engineer, you will execute runbooks to move Power BI artefacts and operational configurations between tenants, validating outcomes and resolving standard errors with playbooks. You will support wave execution, perform post‑migration checks (access, refresh behaviour, workspace settings) and maintain disciplined evidence capture and ticket updates. You will be part of a 24x7 factory team and measured on throughput, quality and the ability to resolve defects quickly and cleanly.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum exp- 7 years
• Hands-on experience in Power BI tenant-to-tenant migration execution in production.
• Strong working knowledge of Power BI Service, including workspaces, permissions, datasets, reports, and operational issues.
• Experience executing repeatable migration runbooks with strict evidence capture and closure standards.
• Experience with post-migration validation and resolving access, refresh, and missing dependency issues.
• Experience working in shift-based environments with formal handovers and queue/backlog management.
• Strong documentation skills for tickets, handovers, and escalations.
• Ability to work under time-sensitive cutover pressure while maintaining quality and compliance.
• Strong communication, collaboration, risk identification, and escalation skills.
• Willingness to work in a three-shift 24x7 Factory model.

Preferred Skills

• PL-300 certification or equivalent.
• Experience with third-party Power BI tenant migration tools.
• Knowledge of Power BI data source connectivity, gateways, and operational monitoring.
• Experience supporting enterprise cutovers and hypercare models.
• Experience improving shared migration runbooks and operational playbooks.
