Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Bengaluru seeks a Technical Compliance Manager to lead compliance across engineering, product development, manufacturing and quality operations. You will ensure products meet safety, regulatory and customer standards while driving audits, CAPA, and documentation throughout the lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background with deep knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulatory expectations, and will coordinate with multiple teams to maintain

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, or related fields).
  • 5-8 years of experience in automotive Tier 1 environment with business development, sales, or key account background.
  • Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision making and proficiency in Excel/ Tableau-like tools.
  • Solid knowledge of ISO 9001, ASPICE, ISO 26262, ISO 21434, IEC/UL/CE norms; PSCR/PSCRE methods.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, audits, and documentation throughout product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and apply industry standards, regulations and customer requirements (ISO 26262, ASPICE, ISO 9001, ISO 21434).
  • Ensure engineering and product development activities comply with laws, certifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of global regulations and communicate changes to teams.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Lead internal and external compliance audits, assessments, and certification activities.
  • Define and maintain traceability, documentation, and compliance records across programs.
  • Coordinate with engineering, product, quality, manufacturing and supply chain to ensure lifecycle compliance.
  • Support customer compliance reviews, RFQs, assessments, and technical documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate supplier compliance checks and manage supplier risk assessments.
  • Identify compliance risks and define mitigation plans with engineering teams.
  • Monitor gaps and lead CAPA, ensuring timely closure; conduct root-cause analysis for findings.

Role: Technical Compliance Manager


The Technical Compliance Manager is responsible to lead compliance activities across engineering, product development, manufacturing, and quality operations. This role ensures that products meet all relevant technical, safety, regulatory, and customer standards while driving compliance processes, audits, and documentation throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background combined with deep knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulatory expectations.


Key Responsibilities


  • Interpret and apply relevant industry standards, regulations and customer requirements (e.g. ISO 26262, ASPICE, ISO 9001, ISO 21434, IEC 61508, UL, CE, RoHS, REACH)

  • Ensure all engineering and product development activities comply with applicable laws, certifications and quality standards

  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of global regulations and communicate changes to cross-functional teams

  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and workflows.

  • Lead internal and external compliance audits, assessments, and certification activities.

  • Define and maintain traceability, documentation, and compliance records across engineering programs.

  • Work with engineering, product management, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure compliance throughout the lifecycle: from concept to production and aftersales.

  • Support customer compliance reviews, RFQs, assessments, and technical documentation requirements.

  • Coordinate supplier compliance checks and manage supplier technical risk assessments.

  • Identify compolince risks and define mitigation plans with engineering teams

  • Monitor gaps and lead corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), ensuring timely closure

  • Conduct root-cause analysis for compliance failures or audit findings


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering(Electrical, Mechanical, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, or related fields)

  • 5-8 years of experience in business development, sales, or key account management within the automotive Tier 1 environment.

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Power/Tableau and data driven decision making

  • Strong understanding of industry standards (ISO 9001, ASPICE, ISO 26262, ISO 21434, IEC/UL/CE norms depending on domain).

  • Knowledge of Product Safety & Conformity Representative (PSCR/PSCRE) methodologies (for automotive).

  • Understanding of cybersecurity compliance and risk assessments.

  • Certifications: Lead Auditor (ISO 9001/ISO 27001), Functional Safety Engineer, ASPICE Provisional Assessor.

  • Experience with tools such as Polarion, DOORS, JAMA, Jira, Confluence, PLM systems.
