Job summary

Michael Page is partnering with a fast-growing technology-led product organisation building enterprise-grade platforms. We seek an architecture leader to shape scalable, AI-ready platforms and influence engineering standards across teams.

You will own platform architecture across products, design secure, fault-tolerant distributed systems, and drive adoption of GenAI, LLMs, and RAG. Strong mentoring and stakeholder management required.

Qualifications

• 9–15 years of software engineering experience with architecture ownership.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, messaging, and event-driven patterns.
• Experience influencing technical direction across multiple teams.
• Exposure to GenAI, LLMs, RAG architectures is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive platform architecture across products and engineering teams.
• Design scalable, highly available, secure, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Lead architectural decisions for microservices, APIs, databases, messaging, and cloud infrastructure.
• Build proofs of concept and remain actively involved in code, design reviews, and technical problem-solving.
• Establish engineering standards, architectural principles, and development best practices.
• Architect for multi-tenancy, observability, performance optimisation, and operational resilience.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Mentor Lead and Senior Engineers on architecture, technology choices, and system design.
• Evaluate and drive adoption of emerging technologies including GenAI, LLMs, RAG architectures, AI agents.

The Successful Applicant

• 9 to 15 years of software engineering experience with strong architecture ownership
• Extensive hands-on backend or full-stack development experience
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and cloud-native architectures
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, caching, messaging, and event-driven systems
• Proven experience building secure, highly available, and observable platforms at scale
• Ability to balance scalability, reliability, performance, and delivery timelines
• Track record of influencing technical direction across multiple engineering teams
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and mentoring skills
• Exposure to B2B SaaS, FinTech, transaction-heavy platforms, or multi-tenant systems preferred
• Experience with GenAI, LLMs, RAG architectures, AI agents, or LLMOps is advantageous
• Prior experience in high-growth product organisations or startup environments preferred
