Job description
We are looking for a seasoned Technical Architect to define and own end-to-end system architecture for our web applications and backend services. This is a fully remote consulting engagement. Work from anywhere in India with flexible hours — with a minimum 5-hour daily overlap with US Eastern Time for team collaboration. You will work with our engineering teams to design scalable systems, drive critical technical decisions, and integrate AI capabilities into our core platform.
If you are someone who is equally comfortable whiteboarding architecture and getting hands-on when it matters, this role is for you.
Compensation: ₹20 – 26 LPA CTC, depending on experience. Open to negotiation for the right candidate.
- Define and own overall system architecture across web and backend services
- Translate business requirements into technical blueprints and solution designs
- Lead architecture discussions, design reviews, and technical decision‑making
- Architect scalable RESTful APIs, distributed services, and event‑driven systems
- Design and manage cloud‑based infrastructure, primarily on AWS (S3, SNS)
- Oversee background processing systems including scheduled and cron‑based jobs
- Integrate AI and LLM‑powered capabilities into core product workflows
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployment architecture and system reliability
- Mentor and provide technical governance across engineering teams
- Identify risks, bottlenecks, and scalability issues before they become problems
- Get hands‑on with critical modules when the situation requires it

- Strong backend expertise in Node.js, Express.js, and TypeScript
- Experience with NoSQL databases and Elasticsearch
- Solid frontend experience with Vue 3, Vue Router 4, and Vuex 4
- Hands‑on AWS experience — particularly S3 and SNS in production environments
- Deep understanding of microservices, event‑driven architecture, and API‑first design
- Proven ability to design fault‑tolerant, highly available, large‑scale systems
- Strong grasp of security best practices, authentication (JWT, OAuth), and data protection
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, load balancing, and server configuration
- Hands‑on experience or strong working knowledge of LLMs and AI system design
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with data engineering or analytics systems
- Prior work in AI‑first or data‑driven product environments
- A strong communicator who can bridge business needs and technical solutions
- Comfortable leading teams and making decisions under ambiguity
- Someone who takes ownership — not just of architecture documents but of outcomes
- Able to work independently in a remote, async‑friendly environment

This is a fully remote consulting role. You choose your work environment — all we need is your expertise and a reliable internet connection.
Work hours are flexible, however this role involves daily collaboration with teams spread across time zones. You will need to be available for a minimum of 5 hours overlap with US Eastern Time (ET). Plan for availability roughly between 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST on most working days.
This role is remote and will remain so. However, we have a strong preference for candidates who are open to relocating to Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh over time.
