Job summary

Weekday AI (YC W21) in Hyderabad is seeking a Software Architect to design and deliver scalable backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure. You will guide Flutter frontend development and own architectural decisions across the stack.

The role requires 10+ years in software engineering, 5+ years building production-scale systems, and strong Python backend experience with Flask/FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP. Mentoring across teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience including at least 5 years in production-scale system design.
• Ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs for scalability, reliability, maintainability, and cost.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills for cross-functional teams.
• Extensive experience with Python backend development using Flask or FastAPI.
• Strong expertise with SQLAlchemy or equivalent ORM for high-concurrency, thread-safe apps.
• Practical experience with dependency injection and modular code design.
• Ability to break down complex requirements into smaller deliverables.
• Proficiency in designing scalable database schemas and query optimization.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (preferably GCP).
• Familiarity with data processing libraries (Pandas, NumPy) for analytics or ML is a plus.
