Job summary

Jobtailor in Pune is seeking a Lead Data Engineer/Architect to steer design for Microsoft Fabric platforms, including Lakehouse, Data Factory, and Notebooks, and to drive migration from legacy stacks.

You will manage a pod of 5–10 engineers, build complex pipelines and semantic models, implement governance with Purview, and lead release strategies using Azure DevOps or GitHub to ensure reliable, scalable Fabric workloads.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in data engineering, with 3+ years in a Lead or Architect capacity.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Data Factory, Notebooks).
  • Expert in PySpark, Spark SQL, and Delta Lake performance tuning.
  • Expert‑level SQL and Medallion/Lakehouse architectures and dimensional modeling.
  • Strong experience with ADF, ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, Synapse, and Key Vault.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI, Direct Lake, semantic modeling, and DAX.
  • Experience transitioning from Snowflake or Databricks to Fabric (good‑to‑have).
  • Hands‑on with KQL, Eventstreams, or Activator (good‑to‑have).
  • Experience with SAP source systems (S/4HANA/BW) using CDS views or ODP (good‑to‑have).
  • Certifications: Microsoft DP-700, DP-600, or DP-203 (good‑to‑have).
  • Experience with effort estimation, RFP responses, and Proof‑of‑Concepts (PoCs) (good‑to‑have).
