Job summary

Photon in India seeks an accomplished Frontend Lead to architect and drive the development of rich UIs and email templates across devices and clients. You will establish coding standards, mentor a team of developers, and collaborate with marketing and design to plan and execute frontend initiatives.

You will optimize performance, ensure cross-browser compatibility, and stay current with email development trends and tooling.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in frontend development with at least 2 years in a lead role.
• Deep expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Bootstrap.
• Ability to mentor and coach other developers for better quality and velocity.
• Advanced knowledge of responsive email development, including inline CSS and table-based layouts.
• Deep understanding of email client limitations and cross-browser compatibility.
• Familiarity with frontend tooling (Webpack, Gulp), Git, and CI/CD processes.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality email templates and web UI components.
• Establish and enforce front-end development standards, best practices, and reusable frameworks.
• Ensure pixel-perfect, responsive, and cross-browser-compatible UIs and emails.
• Review code, conduct performance audits, and resolve complex UI and rendering issues across varied email clients (Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, etc.).
• Collaborate with stakeholders (marketing, design, product) to plan and prioritize front-end and email initiatives.
• Mentor and coach frontend developers, fostering a culture of code quality and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the integration of email templates with marketing platforms (e.g., Zeta, Braize, Mailchimp, Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
• Stay current on front-end trends, tools, and frameworks, especially in the email development ecosystem.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
