Job summary

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories is hiring a maintenance engineer with 6–8 years of experience in instrumentation/EEE. You will coordinate preventive maintenance with cross-functional teams, prepare maintenance plans, manage budgets and spares, and ensure GMP/GEP compliance.

The role involves training, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination on site in Visakhapatnam. Experience in injectable equipment maintenance and SAP-driven workflows is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or B.Tech./M.Tech. in Instrumentation or EEE.
  • 6–8 years of work experience in maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive, breakdown and predictive maintenance.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and shutdowns of plant equipment.
  • Capable of planning preventive maintenance activities and budgeting.
  • Familiar with GMP and GEP practices.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure preventive maintenance per SAP schedules.
  • Prepare the Preventive Maintenance Plan and maintain records of breakdowns.
  • Review instructions and SOPs related to production operation with external vendors.
  • Train team members during troubleshooting and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Manage instrument spares inventory and budget for the area.
  • Ensure availability of process equipment and maintenance of spares with OEMs and vendors.
  • Close CAPA actions on time and support site documentation for audits.
  • Maintain GMP and cGMP compliance and uphold engineering best practices.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for coordinating with cross functional teams for ensuring that preventive maintenance is carried out as per schedules in SAP.
  • Your role involves preparing the PMP (Preventive Maintenance Plan) and maintaining the necessary records of breakdowns and maintenance activities in the PMP as per defined frequency.
  • Your responsibilities include handling of external contractors and agencies, reviewing and ensuring implementation of the instructions (Work Instructions and SOPs – Standard Operating Procedures) related to production operation.
  • You will train and assist the team members during troubleshoot and breakdown of machines and commissioning of new Equipment.
  • You will ensure balance investigation and inventory control for all instrument spares parts.
  • Your role involves planning, consolidating and submitting the maintenance budget for the allotted area/unit.
  • You will ensure that the maintenance expense is within the budgeted amount.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring availability of all process equipment and regular maintenance of all process equipment spares by following up with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), external vendors and SCM (Supply Chain Management).
  • You will be accountable for enduring closure and completion all assigned CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) on time.
  • You will be expected to support any technical/documentation activities at site as per instructions from Section Head.
  • You will be responsible for preparing, updating, and maintaining all necessary documents for audits like SOPs, formats, PM (Preventive Maintenance) books, protocols, and Machine History Books for the respective areas.
  • Your responsibilities include facility upkeep of respective areas as per GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and cGMP (Current GMP).
  • You will be accountable for ensuring implementation of Good Engineering Practices (GEP) at Site.
Qualifications

Educational qualification: A Diploma or a B.Tech./M.Tech.(Instrumentation or EEE)

Minimum work experience: 6 to 8 years

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge and experience in handling injectable equipment such as washing machines, depyrogenation tunnels, filling machines, isolators, capping machines, lyophilizers, and auto loading/unloading systems. Skilled in preventive maintenance, equipment breakdown maintenance, and predictive maintenance.
  • Experienced in troubleshooting and managing breakdowns of machines and equipment.
  • Proficient in planning and executing preventive maintenance activities.
  • Capable of managing the maintenance budget for a specific area or unit.
  • Well-versed in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GEP (Good Engineering Practices).

Behavioural skills

  • Communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with cross functional teams, external contractors and agencies.
  • Attention to detail to ensure preventive maintenance, documentation, and inventory control.
