Job description

Job Description:

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling, and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Team Leader (Services) in Indore we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your leadership and team management expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, motivated, and goal-oriented teammates.

You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the successful maintenance, servicing, and renovation of rolling stock and infrastructure. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Quality Managers, Industrial Teams, and Customer Representatives), manage team performance, and ensure safety and quality standards are met, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of leading and coordinating your team to meet service demands, but also support continuous improvement initiatives and team development.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Leading all aspects of the team in maintenance and servicing to meet customer requirements within the working timetable.
  • Delivering start-of-shift and end-of-shift briefings to team members.
  • Coordinating the deployment of team members to ensure smooth shift operations.
  • Upholding site safety and ensuring compliance with all safety procedures and standards.
  • Providing real-time updates to the Production Manager on work progress, deviations, and adverse events.
  • Ensuring all documentation and processes are completed to the required standards.
  • Facilitating regular team communication and providing feedback on performance.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and identifying smarter ways of working.
  • Ensuring team members have the necessary skills and training to perform their roles effectively.
All About You

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent with associated technical qualifications (e.g., Higher National Certificate, Ordinary National Certificate, City & Guilds, or recognized equivalent).
  • In-depth understanding of rail depot and rail industry operations.
  • Proven experience in fleet, maintenance, or renovation within an operational role.
  • Knowledge of Network Rail rules and regulations, H&SAWA, COSHH, and local safety procedures.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in IT tools and systems.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under stringent timelines.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines.
  • Work with new safety and operational standards for rail maintenance and servicing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and supportive colleagues.
  • Contribute to innovative projects that make a real difference in sustainable mobility.
  • Utilize our inclusive and dynamic working environment.
  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries.
  • Benefit from our investment in your development through award-winning learning opportunities.
  • Progress towards roles such as Production Manager or other leadership positions.
  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognizes your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
