Job summary

WSP India is seeking a Team Leader Business Administration – GCC to lead and develop the GCC Business Solutions team, in collaboration with UK leadership. The role focuses on resourcing, performance management, and delivering high-quality administrative, project support and graphic design services across multiple geographies.

You will manage recruitment, capability development and ongoing coaching, while driving continuous improvement and adopting new tools to enhance efficiency.

Job Description

The Team Leader Business Administration – GCC will work closely with the UK Leadership Team and the UK-based Business Solutions function to lead and develop the GCC Business Solutions team. The role is accountable for ensuring the team is appropriately resourced, operates effectively, and delivers high-quality support across a portfolio of administrative, project support, and graphic services.

Working in close collaboration with Senior Leadership Team members, Team Leaders and People Managers across both the UK and GCC, the role will drive operational excellence through consistent delivery standards, continuous improvement, and process simplification.

As the team continues to grow, the successful candidate will provide strong leadership and line management, with responsibility for resource planning, recruitment, capability development, and performance management. A strong working knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe tools is essential to support the team’s delivery requirements.

The role requires a proactive and self-directed individual with strong problem-solving capability, able to manage multiple priorities and identify effective solutions where required. Excellent communication skills are critical, enabling clear and concise engagement with stakeholders and effective direction to GCC-based team members on task and project delivery.

Attention to detail, the ability to work at pace, and a collaborative approach are essential. The role will continue to evolve, requiring ongoing flexibility and a willingness to self learn new systems, tools, and processes quickly and effectively.

A key focus of the role is to embed a “one team” culture across all teams and geographies, aligning purpose, ways of working, values, and behaviours.

Responsibilities
Business and organisational insight
  • Developing a strong understanding of WSP UK and the wider organisation to enable effective alignment of services to business needs, projects, and teams.
Operational leadership and resource management
  • Leading the day-to-day operations of the GCC Business Solutions team, ensuring effective resource planning, allocation and prioritisation to meet service demand.
Team leadership and capability development
  • Providing leadership and line management to a multi-disciplinary team including PA services, Business and Project Support, Travel and Fleet, and Graphic Design. Accountable for recruitment, performance management and ongoing capability development.
Performance management and reporting
  • Driving performance through robust reporting on utilisation, service delivery and team outputs. Identifying trends, risks and improvement opportunities to inform decision-making.
Continuous improvement and innovation
  • Leading the identification and adoption of new technologies, tools and processes including automation, to enhance team efficiency, simplify delivery and improve service quality. Maintain exceptional design skills and understanding to accelerate team capability.
Service delivery and quality oversight
  • Ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality outputs across administrative, project support and graphic design and digital services, often within tight deadlines.
Meet brand and design standards
  • Adhere corporate branding standards across all outputs. Provide guidance and mentorship to improve design quality and consistency across deliverables.
Collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Supporting the development of the wider UK Business Solutions function through knowledge sharing, training and best practice development.
GCC team integration and support
  • Providing clear guidance and support to India-based team members to ensure effective delivery and alignment with UK requirements.
Team engagement and communication
  • Leading team communication through briefings, team meetings and forums, encouraging contribution, feedback and continuous improvement.
Clients and stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, contributing to overall service quality and client satisfaction.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing across internal and external forums to elevate the teams visibility.
People
  • Lead inclusively by clearly articulating vision, setting expectations, defining responsibilities, and delegating effectively, while providing constructive feedback to support individual and team development.
  • Contributes to building an inclusive and engaged function, with a focus on retention, talent attraction, and creating opportunities for career development and progression.
  • Drive improvements in employee engagement (including Peakon outcomes) by implementing and tracking meaningful actions that enhance team experience.
  • Provide visible leadership through regular communication, motivation and coaching, alongside effective performance management, including Personal Development Reviews and ongoing development conversations.
  • Manage personnel matters in partnership with HR, ensuring appropriate handling of employee relations, recruitment, and organizational requirements.
  • Support and lead recruitment activity in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring alignment to current and future capability needs.
  • Foster a culture of trust and openness through the appropriate and confidential handling of sensitive information and employee-related matters.
  • Manage conflict effectively and professionally, maintaining a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Work effectively across geographies and disciplines, embracing diverse perspectives and ensuring inclusive ways of working.
Business Focus
  • Proactively promotes and influences a strong culture of health, safety and wellbeing across the team and wider function.
  • Support the UK Business Solutions team in shaping and delivering clear, consistent communication strategies.
  • Engage regularly with Directors, key stakeholders and teams to represent Business Solutions, strengthening visibility, building relationships and gathering feedback to inform future direction and decision-making.
  • Act as a role model, championing standards and mentoring others to support individual and team development. Explore ways to add value and improve personal and team performance.
Qualifications
BGV:
  • Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third‑party agency appointed by WSP India.
