Job summary

Northern Trust in Bangalore is seeking a TA supervisor to oversee day-to-day processing and quality checks of TA transactions, ensuring regulatory and client standards are met.

You will lead a team, manage queues, coordinate with internal teams, and drive risk and accuracy in fund administration, settlements, and reporting. Shift is 6:30 PM IST, with opportunities to collaborate globally.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Dealing, Registration, Settlements and Reconciliation processes.
  • Knowledge of NA regulatory environment and fund administration.
  • Experience leading processes or teams and meeting deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and high accuracy in work output.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word for data handling and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage review queues and escalations promptly.
  • Monitor fund transactions and suggest procedural improvements.
  • Resolve audit or regulatory issues within agreed timeframes.

  • Engender collaboration with Home Location and other departments.
  • Document errors in tracker and raise incidents promptly.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings.
  • Support Manager and Group projects on client initiatives.

Role

The department is responsible for client processing and quality checking of transactions and updating the registers of our clients’ mutual/private equity funds in response to investor instructions. This department is responsible for several TA functions, including, but not limited to, Dealing, Registration, Settlement, Reconciliations, Distributions, Management Accounting, Fund Allocation and Client Reporting.

This role is for day to day oversight/supervision of the processing of this work.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Supervise the processing and quality checking of a wide range of TA function transactions through our systems, to regulatory and client standards
  • Ensuring that the team’s work is completed to deadlines
  • Manage review queues and mailboxes and ensure that questions and/or escalated issues are addressed promptly ensuring that any outstanding issues are followed through to resolution.
  • Monitors and reports on various fund transactions. Makes recommendations to manager on procedure changes.
  • Resolving any identified audit or regulatory issues within the agreed timeframe.
  • Partner performance is monitored and feedback is provided through monthly one to one meetings
  • Engenders close working relationships with other areas, such as the Home Location or internal inter-dependent departments
  • Ensure all internal and external errors are documented in error tracker with proper description and incidents raised in timely manner.
  • To facilitate regular team meetings
  • To work with the Manager and Group projects area on any allocated Client projects.
  • Fulfil additional, relevant, tasks appropriate to the role and business requirements
  • Escalation point for unresolved issues to the India TA team
  • Set partner objectives and monitors these and provides feedback through monthly one to one meetings
  • Provides management and guidance to staff, fostering an environment which encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication
Qualifications / Skills / Experience
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of Dealing, Registration, Settlements, Payments, Hurdle rate, Crystallization, Management and Incentive Fees and Reconciliation.
  • Demonstrate a detailed working knowledge of the Dealing, Registration Settlements, Payments, Hurdle rate, Crystallization, Management and Incentive Fees and Reconciliation processes
  • Experience of taking leadership of processes or people
  • Ability to work to set deadlines
  • Attention to detail and strong accuracy
  • Ability to use Excel and Word competently
  • Analytical skills are required to research and resolve enquiries
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Client Service experience, preferably gained in an investment administration environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of North America regulatory environment
  • An understanding of Mutual/Private Equity Funds administration
  • Knowledge and understanding of, FATCA, ERISA etc

Shift Time: 6.30 PM IST (NA hours)
