Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the IP industry, preferably mechanical technology-related patent research projects.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering disciplines.
• Experience in prior art searches, patentability analysis, FTO studies, invalidation searches, and patent landscape analysis.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with experience handling research teams.
• Proficiency in patent databases and tools such as Orbit, PatSeer, Derwent, Google Patents, and Espacenet.
• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare and review high quality technical reports.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and deliver results within tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Patent Analysts working on mechanical domain projects.
• Conduct and supervise prior art searches, patentability assessments, invalidation searches, freedom-to-operate (FTO) studies, and landscape analysis in mechanical technologies.
• Review and ensure the quality, accuracy, and completeness of patent search reports and analysis prepared by team members.
• Plan and coordinate project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables to meet client expectations and deadlines.
• Communicate with clients to understand project requirements, provide technical insights, and deliver project updates.
• Provide technical guidance and training to team members to enhance research capabilities and domain knowledge.
• Stay updated on emerging trends in mechanical technologies and developments in global IP regulations.
