Job summary

CohnReznick is expanding its India operations and seeking a Senior to join our Real Estate tax team. The role involves preparing and reviewing US Federal and state tax returns for partnerships, with a focus on Real Estate, while ensuring adherence to firm standards.

The successful candidate will have 3+ years of U.S. taxation experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to guide and develop junior staff within a hybrid work environment in India.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. taxation and accounting principles.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and interpret financial data, tax returns, and supporting workpapers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication for documentation and inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Review US federal and state tax returns prepared by associates and experienced associates, including partnership/1065 returns (Real Estate).
  • Ensure compliance with firm quality standards, tax regulations, and engagement-specific instructions, maintaining a high level of accuracy and consistency.
  • Identify technical issues, risks, and process inefficiencies; provide clear, actionable, and value-added review comments to enhance quality and team learning.
  • Manage multiple engagements simultaneously by prioritizing workloads, meeting deadlines, and maintaining strong coordination with engagement teams.
  • Reduce rework by guiding preparers during the preparation phase where possible.
  • Act as a buddy to the junior staff, providing technical guidance, reviewing concepts, and supporting their professional development

We currently have an exciting career opportunity for an Senior to join the Real Estate team in our Tax practice.

CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid which means team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. While the cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level, our professionals are encouraged to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week.

YOUR TEAM

This position will support our Tax team and this team Prepares and or Review US Federal Income tax returns of Partnership/ Form 1065 (Real Estate).

YOUR ROLE

Your Experience
The successful candidate will have:
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. taxation and understanding of accounting principles.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and interpret financial data, tax returns, and supporting workpapers
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to identify risks, issues, and solutions proactively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication for documentation and inquiries.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in U.S. taxation
  • Experience with U.S. tax software such as CCH Axcess, Go-System, OneSource, ProSystem, and CCH Engagement/CaseWare.
