Job Description Network Domain Architect
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Network Domain Architect responsible for defining, designing, and governing enterprise network architecture across on-premises, data center, and cloud environments. The role focuses on building secure, scalable, and high-performance networking solutions aligned with business and IT strategy.
This is a senior technical leadership role involving architecture design, transformation initiatives, and governance across global network landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Network Architecture & Strategy
- Define and maintain enterprise network architecture roadmap aligned with business needs
- Design end-to-end architectures across:
- LAN / WAN / WLAN
- Data Centre Networks
- Cloud & Hybrid Connectivity
- Develop HLD / LLD documentation and design standards
- Ensure scalability, resilience, and high availability
2. Core Networking & Infrastructure
- Architect solutions using technologies such as:
- Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF)
- Load balancers, DNS, DHCP
- VPNs and network segmentation
- Oversee deployment and lifecycle of network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls)
3. Network Security Architecture
- Design and enforce secure network architecture including:
- Firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC
- VPN and Zero Trust network principles
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with enterprise standards
- Define network segmentation and access control
4. Cloud & Hybrid Networking
- Design and integrate network solutions across:
- Azure / AWS cloud environments
- Hybrid connectivity (ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, SD-WAN)
- Lead migration and modernization initiatives (legacy to cloud-enabled networks
5. Performance & Capacity Planning
- Define network performance benchmarks and SLAs
- Conduct capacity planning and optimization across network landscapes
- Monitor network health and recommend improvements
6. Automation & Innovation
- Drive automation using Python, Ansible, or similar tools
- Evaluate and implement modern technologies such as:
- SD-WAN / SASE
- Network automation & observability tools
- Continuously improve operational efficiency
7. Governance & Stakeholder Management
- Define and enforce network standards, policies, and best practices
- Lead architecture review boards and design governance
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and business teams
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers
8. Leadership & Delivery
- Provide technical leadership to network engineers and delivery teams
- Support large-scale deployments, migrations, and transformations
- Mentor team members and drive knowledge sharing
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in:
- Enterprise networking (LAN, WAN, WLAN, Data Centre)
- Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS)
- Network security (Firewalls, VPN, Zero Trust)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, or similar OEM technologies
- Cloud networking (Azure / AWS)
- Strong understanding of:
- SD-WAN, SASE, and modern network
Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in enterprise networking
- Proven expertise in network architecture design and transformation
- Experience working in large-scale, global environments
Certifications (Preferred)
- CCNP / CCIE
- AWS Advanced Networking / Azure Networking
- Security certifications (e.g., CISSP – optional)
