Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Bangalore seeks a Group Lead / Project Lead for Metro to drive TCMS systems for locomotives and train applications. You will lead cross-functional teams, define system requirements, and ensure on-time delivery per EN standards.

The role requires 12+ years in rolling stock with a track record in leadership, mentoring, and delivering high-quality TCMS solutions within strict schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical/electronics or related field.
• 12+ years in rolling stock with 3–5 years in a tech lead/mentorship role.
• Proven leadership, task delegation and resource planning experience.
• Strong expertise in locomotive/train control systems, testing and commissioning.
• Hands-on with MVB, WTB, Ethernet; TRDP knowledge is an advantage.
• Familiar with IEC 50128, IEC 61131, IEC 61375 and EN 50657.
• Excellent stakeholder communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Ability to deliver high-quality results under tight schedules while complying with standards.

Responsibilities

• Define system requirements and interface specs for vehicle control systems.
• Lead design, implementation, and review of TCMS software components per safety standards.
• Lead TCMS project teams: effort estimation, hours management, deliverable tracking.
• Manage TCMS delivery in line with project timelines; ensure on-time delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior TCMS engineers.
• Design and develop TCMS control functions per EN 61131-3.
• Oversee software test specs preparation and design verification.
• Coordinate software integration and validation with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze diagnostic data, resolve complex issues, propose improvements.
• Develop and validate system-level TCMS concepts for locomotives/train apps.
• Take end-to-end ownership of software upgrades and new features per V-model (EN 50657).
• Collaborate with project managers, system engineers and stakeholders for project success.
• Conduct training sessions for customers and service teams.

We are looking for Group lead / Project Lead for Metro

You’ll make a difference by

• Define system requirements and interface specifications for vehicle control systems.
• Lead the design, implementation, and review of TCMS software components in compliance with applicable safety standards.
• Lead TCMS project teams, including effort estimation, hours management, and deliverable tracking.
• Manage TCMS delivery in line with project development timelines and ensure on‑time delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers in TCMS design and development.
• Design and develop TCMS control functions using functional block diagrams in compliance with EN 61131-3.
• Oversee the preparation and review of software test specifications and ensure comprehensive design verification.
• Coordinate and support software integration and validation activities with cross‑functional teams.
• Analyze diagnostic data, resolve complex system issues, and propose performance improvements.
• Develop and validate system‑level TCMS concepts for locomotives and train applications.
• Take end‑to‑end ownership of software upgrades and new feature implementations following the V‑model approach in compliance with EN 50657.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, system engineers, and key stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
• Conduct training sessions for customers and service teams.

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, Electronics, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in the rolling stock domain, including 3–5 years in a technical lead or mentorship role.
• Proven experience in team leadership, task delegation, and resource planning.
• Strong expertise in locomotive/train control systems, testing, and commissioning.
• Hands‑on experience with MVB, WTB, and Ethernet communication protocols; TRDP knowledge is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of standards such as IEC 50128, IEC 61131, IEC 61375, and EN 50657.
• Excellent stakeholder communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality results under tight schedules while ensuring full compliance with industry standards.
