Job summary

Siemens Mobility seeks a Train Architect to craft TCMS/Train IT concepts, drive system architectures, and coordinate cross‑system interfaces. You will lead architectural clarifications, support bid projects, and guide teams in standardized architectures while aligning with target costs.

Ideal candidates bring 8–10 years of relevant experience, strong leadership, English fluency, and good knowledge of IEC standards. Based in Bangalore, with potential travel to other India locations.

Qualifications

• Technical education in TCMS / Train IT / control engineering or similar field of engineering.
• 8–10 years of experience in a relevant professional group or activity.
• Team leadership experience is desired.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of German is an advantage.
• Experience with the design of drives and components.
• Interest in requirements and systems engineering.
• Good understanding of standards such as IEC 50128, IEC 61131, IEC 61375, etc.

Responsibilities

• Creation of an overall technical concept (TCMS/Train IT architecture) considering standard components, product strategies and total cost aspects to achieve target costs.
• Clarification of architectural requirements.
• Clarification of all cross‑systems, technical interfaces.
• Conceptual design of architectures of the electrical part (especially drive / brake / auxiliary / underfloor (control cabinet) and main power).
• Review of the relevant subsystem concepts.
• Technical support of the TBM/TM and cooperation in the preparation of the technical offer / project.
• Cooperation with the relevant specialist groups and technical coordination of the concepts and the requirements.
• Standardization: Develop standardized architectures and demand them in bidding projects. Adaptation of the platform if necessary.
• Support in the development of the test matrix at overall vehicle level.
• Provide guidance and training to the teams.

Train Architect - Function

• You have successfully completed technical education in one of the fields (TCMS / Train IT / control engineering) or similar fields of engineering.
• You have at least 8–10 years of experience in a relevant professional group or activity.
• Team leadership experience is desired.
• You must be fluent in English & knowledge of German language would be an advantage.
• You have experience with the design of drives and components.
• Interest in requirements and systems engineering.
• Good understanding of standards such as IEC 50128, IEC 61131, IEC 61375, etc.
