Responsibilities

• Prepare complex tax returns for individuals and entities.
• Deliver tax plans and payroll plans to clients and sign tax returns as directed by the Pod leader.
• Manage advisory engagements and tax-only engagements toward Client Manager progression.
• Prepare tax plans and projections, balancing prep and review over time.
• Discuss tax strategies to reduce taxes and review capitalization, participation, and risk.
• Calculate salary and tax projections, enter shareholder payroll, and review numbers with clients.
• Resolve federal and state tax notices and other client issues.

About Our Client

The organisation operates in the Professional Services industry in Ahmedabad.

Job Description

• Preparing complex individual (1040) and business entity (1120S, 1065, 1120) tax returns, starting at roughly 90% preparation and 10% review the first year and moving toward a 30% / 70% split as you gain reps.
• Delivering tax returns, tax plans, and payroll plans to clients, and signing tax returns on a per-client basis as directed by your Pod leader.
• Managing roughly 25 to 30 advisory engagements, plus another 25 to 50 tax-only engagements (TOEs) your first, and increasing to 100ish advisory and 150ish TOEs as you work towards being a Client Manager within the promoted role of Senior Tax Supervisor.
• Preparing tax plans and projections on a similar path, starting prep-heavy and evening out to a roughly 50/50 preparation and review split over time.
• Discussing tax strategies to reduce taxes and reviewing capitalization, participation and risk.
• Calculating salary and tax projections, entering shareholder payroll, and reviewing those numbers with clients.
• Resolving federal and state tax notices and other client issues.

The Successful Applicant

• Holds an active CPA, EA or CA license.
• Brings 3 to 5 years or more of complex tax return preparation in a public accounting environment, with real comfort across individual (1040) and business entity (1120S, 1065, 1120) tax returns.
