Job summary

BTVK Advisory in Bengaluru invites experienced tax professionals to join our U.S. taxation practice. You will prepare and review individual and entity returns, conduct research, and help deliver compliant solutions for diverse clients.

This role requires 3+ years in U.S. taxation, familiarity with tax software such as CCH Axcess and SurePrep, and a proactive, client‑facing approach. CPA/US CA is preferred; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
• CPA (US) or CA (ICAI) preferred; eligibility to pursue certification on hire.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in U.S. Taxation.
• Experience preparing and reviewing individual tax forms including 1040, 1041, 990, and 5500.
• Familiarity with CCH Axcess, SurePrep, or similar tax preparation tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support client engagements in tax services across multiple industries and entity structures.
• Prepare and review tax returns and workpapers for a variety of filings, with a focus on individual taxation including Forms 1040, 1041, 990, and 5500.
• Conduct tax research and assist in developing and implementing tax strategies to address client-specific requirements and potential tax issues.
• Review extensions, quarterly estimates, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
• Support and coach Tax Staff through collaboration, technical guidance, and review feedback.
• Utilize tax technologies and tools such as CCH Axcess and SurePrep to support efficient tax compliance processes.
• Support business entity tax compliance activities across multiple engagements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to support efficient engagement execution and client service delivery.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to operational efficiency initiatives.
• Maintain awareness of evolving tax regulations, compliance requirements, and industry developments relevant to client engagements.

• Previous experience within a public accounting or professional services environment preferred.
• Experience preparing and reviewing individual tax forms including 1040, 1041, 990, and 5500 required.
• Minimum 2 years of tax preparation experience and 1 year of tax return review experience preferred.
• Familiarity with CCH Axcess, SurePrep, or similar tax preparation tools preferred.
• Strong client service orientation with the ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines effectively.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within collaborative team environments.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and professional development.
• Flexibility to support overtime and travel requirements as needed.
