Responsibilities

• Prepare and file corporate income tax returns, provisional tax returns, and withholding tax returns
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure TRA compliance
• Assist in PAYE calculations and payroll tax compliance
• Review tax computations and reconciliations for accuracy
• Monitor tax filing deadlines and maintain compliance calendars
• Assist in financial statement reviews from a taxation perspective
• Perform other tax and compliance-related duties as assigned

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Tax Associate to support our Tanzania taxation and compliance practice. The role involves managing direct and indirect tax compliances, preparing tax returns, assisting with tax audits and assessments, and ensuring adherence to the requirements of the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) and other regulatory authorities.

The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, sound knowledge of taxation principles, and the ability to work effectively in a client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities-

Tax Compliance

• Prepare and file corporate income tax returns, provisional tax returns, and withholding tax returns.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure timely compliance with TRA requirements.
• Assist in PAYE calculations, payroll tax compliance, and statutory deductions.
• Review tax computations and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor tax filing deadlines and maintain compliance calendars.

Other Responsibilities -

• Assist in financial statement reviews from a taxation perspective.
• Perform any other tax and compliance-related duties assigned by management.

Qualifications Minimum Educational Qualification

• MBA (Finance) OR CA Intermediate (IPCC/Inter)
• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred.

Experience

• 1-3 years of experience in taxation, accounting, audit, or compliance.
• Fresh candidates with strong academic credentials and relevant internship experience may also be considered.
