Position Summary With Job Responsibilities

Position Name: Deputy General Manager-FPIG- TCF-Sanand EV Works-TPEM

Position Level: Level 4

Purpose of the Position:

  • This position is responsible for driving standardization & Continuous Improvement in TCF, maintaining In process Quality to ensure the quality of the product meets engineering specifications of TCF as set by Quality Standards in the organization.

Personal Profile

Education: B.E./B.Tech (MBA/ PGDM Preferred)

Relevant Experience: 10 to 15 years in Automobile Industry, Manufacturing process, Process allocation, SAP, PLM, Quality Systems (WCQ, IATF, TBEM, and TQM) Procedures & Practices, Problem Solving & Inspection Techniques, Products Knowledge of regulatory norms & statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Regular, Project & Launch Management
  2. Establish & Lead Quality Operating System in TCF
  3. Lead Process Engineering group to achieve work station deliverables / robustness/ readiness
  4. Coordinate with Industrial engineering group to identify NVA through GSPAS, ModAPTS / MOST tools & physical implementation of operator allocation on the floor with engineering specialists – Process Engineers.
  5. Identify, establish & drive Statistical Process control (SPC) with Engineering specialists.
  6. Participate in the Daily Quality reviews & work towards resolution of open items from ME perspective.
  7. Establish control points with clear acceptance standards, trained & certified inspectors.
  8. Lead Quality – MES implementation in TCF and ongoing maintenance of MES – Reports/Structure.
  9. Liaise with TS & IT teams to establish MES systems for Scheduling, Production & Quality.
  10. Lead budget preparation for TCF for Capex & Revenue.
  11. Promotes and ensures constant improvement in the ME organization toward the common goal of improving product quality.
  12. Ensures department complies with government/industry standards.
  13. Coordinate the resources and activities required to ensure problem-free start-up.
  14. Facilitate start-up / shift to shift meetings.

Quality Management Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor Organizational Quality targets such as Reduction in Process Warranty, PDI (both Tata as well as Dealer), Craftsmanship and DIFTR/ NTWG issues, review action plans and direct teams to achieve targets.
  2. Drive Issue Resolution of Customer/ Next Shop/ operations/ key quality matrices by problem-solving methodology.
  3. Rejection analysis of in-house & supplier parts at incoming, rejection booking in SAP.
  4. QRM/JOC action plan (Monthly).
  5. Daily Customer complaints tracker.

Quality Systems and Standards Management:

  1. Plan and ensure 100% compliance to all policies, process requirements and quality-related regulatory requirements by equipping the team members with adequate resources.
  2. Review performance of QMS in line with IAFT 16949 and suggest management action plans to improve performance.
  3. Monitor Implementation of quality-related ECM through ECM Processes.

Early Involvement in New Projects:

  1. Identify Shop level Quality Targets for the new products.
  2. Review BITS resolution and Process Failure resolutions through PFMEA, Process Planning.
