Job summary

bp is seeking a Procurement Buyer to manage end‑to‑end purchasing for BP operations. You will handle requisitions, PO generation, supplier communications, and issue resolution to ensure timely fulfillment of goods and services.

Role requires cross‑functional collaboration with stakeholders and adherence to sourcing guidance. Hybrid work arrangement with relocation support within country is available.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement to pay process and PO management.
• Ability to engage BP stakeholders to finalize purchase decisions.
• Familiarity with supplier selection and RFQ processes.

Responsibilities

• Review requisitions for correctness and completeness.
• Assign sources of supply per guidance and sourcing instructions.
• Issue RFQs to obtain pricing and terms.
• Engage stakeholders to finalize purchase decisions.
• Generate and confirm purchase orders with suppliers.
• Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, or invoices.
• Manage PO changes and closure.
• Work US shift hours (6pm–3am) to support Business Partners.

Job Description:

Responsible to procure goods or services from designated sources of supply for requirements generated by BP operations. The Buyer plays the key role in the procurement process that involves timely creation of Purchase Orders (POs) from approved requisitions, as well as the associated follow‑on activities related PO acceptance, tracking, change, and close. Key activities include:

• Inspect incoming requisitions for correctness and completeness and re‑redistributing or referring them when appropriate
• Assign sources of supply in accordance with category guidance or other relevant sourcing instructions
• Issue, as needed, Requests for Quote to obtain pricing, delivery and other commercial terms
• Engage BP stakeholders - e.g., requestors, sourcing specialist etc., to finalize the purchase decision
• Generate Purchase Order and confirming acceptance by the supplier
• Resolve operational issues with the suppliers, sourcing specialist and requestor related to the quality, delivery or receipt of good / services, invoice payment, return of materials, etc.
• Manage required changes to PO and closure of the PO

Working hours (US shift) to support Business Partners: 6pm to 3am
