Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking a System Engineer to configure, maintain and optimize the z/OS infrastructure that supports mission-critical workloads in Bengaluru. You will work with cross-functional teams to respond to issues and implement robust solutions.

You will troubleshoot complex system problems, participate in change management and document configurations and resolutions to ensure reliable operations. Grow within a global, hybrid-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Technical college degree and/or relevant work experience.
• Key skills including knowledge of ISPF, JES2, JCL, REXX, SMP/E, PCOMM, Parallel Sysplex, Disaster Recovery and product maintenance/upgrades.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and resolving complex system / infrastructure issues.
• Knowledge of system programming practices for specific role.
• Experience working within structured processes such as incident, problem, change and inventory management.
• Demonstrated focus on delivering reliable outcomes for customer environments.

As a System Engineer, you will play a key role in the configuration, maintenance and optimization of core Mainframe z/OS infrastructure that support mission critical enterprise workloads. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to respond to system issues and implement solutions, while also contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts.

Required skills and experience

• Technical college degree and/or relevant work experience.
• Key skills including knowledge of ISPF, JES2, JCL, REXX, SMP/E, PCOMM, Parallel Sysplex, Disaster Recovery and product maintenance/upgrades.
• Hands‑on experience troubleshooting and resolving complex system / infrastructure issues.
• Knowledge of system programming practices for specific role.
• Experience working within structured processes such as incident, problem, change and inventory management.
• Demonstrated focus on delivering reliable outcomes for customer environments.

Preferred skills and experience

• Experience with automation tools or scripting for system programming tasks.
• Familiarity with zcloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Experience working in multi‑vendor or enterprise‑scale IT environments.
• Relevant technical certifications.
