Job summary

Applied Materials India in Bengaluru is seeking a systems engineer to support multidisciplinary engineering projects across electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms and software domains. The role focuses on developing and refining system specifications and contributing to design validation.

You will collaborate with product engineering teams, perform tests, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure hardware and software designs meet market requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 2–4 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Support system engineering projects spanning electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms and software.
• Help create system engineering specs for the technical field.
• Perform tests and provide feedback to engineering on new designs.
• Troubleshoot moderately difficult engineering problems incl. serviceability.
• Support System Integration during assembly and final testing.
• Ensure hardware/software designs meet market specs and are reliable.
• Define external interfaces, analyze architecture, keep docs updated.
• Learn and contribute to the systems architecture development.

Role Responsibilities

• Support system engineering projects that have a substantial mix of electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms, and software design, and understand the underlying system implications. Contribute to the system engineering specification within the field of expertise
• Assist in creating the system engineering specification and write the portion of the system engineering specification pertaining to field of technical expertise
• Perform and coordinate tests, and provide feedback to product engineering, physics, algorithms and software on new designs and ongoing engineering improvements
• Identify and troubleshoot moderately difficult engineering problems in field of technical expertise, including serviceability and manufacturability
• Support System Integration during the assembly and final testing of new product designs
• Ensure all new designs of hardware and software meet market requirement specifications and are reliable, safe, user friendly and maintainable by the field
• Assist in defining all external equipment interfaces, analyze architecture ideas and ensure they are up to date and documented.
• Learn and begin contributing to the systems architecture development process.
