Job summary

Google is looking for a Systems Development Engineering (IAM) driven engineer to design, automate, and operate services at scale. You will build tools to reduce toil, instrument systems, and turn data into actionable improvements.

You will maintain Identity and Access Management knowledge, lead identity initiatives, and collaborate across teams to enhance security and efficiency in Google’s global IAM operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT‑related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with technical infrastructure (deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting).
• 2 years of experience with systems automation (Python or Go) and systems design/implementation.
• Experience with Linux operating systems internals and administration, or networking and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain systems and services with autonomy.
• Maintain IAM knowledge, serving as consultant and technical lead for identity initiatives.
• Identify and resolve operational issues by building automated solutions.
• Collaborate to architect solutions improving security and efficiency of IAM operations.
• Partner with security engineers to plan infrastructure changes and participate in on‑call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain systems and services, driving the development of utilities with a degree of autonomy.
• Maintain technical knowledge in Identity and Access Management (IAM) space, serving as a consultant and technical lead for identity‑related initiatives.
• Identify and resolve operational issues and user productivity issues by developing automated solutions and continuous process improvements.
• Collaborate with teams to architect solutions that improve the security posture and efficiency of global Identity and Access Management (IAM) operations.
• Partner with security engineers to plan, execute infrastructure changes that impact the global workforce, ensuring seamless transitions and security. Participate in on‑call rotation, providing guidance and resolution for technical escalations from the support team.
