Our state-of-the-art facility in the WaveRock SEZ, Hyderabad, features a purpose-built, 33,000 sq. ft. cinematic production environment. We bridge the gap between creative artistry and complex computer engineering. To support this massive computational engine, our Infrastructure and Technology team is expanding. We are seeking an experienced, highly collaborative systems administrator to maintain, optimize, and scale the mission-critical tech infrastructure powering our world-class visual experiences.

Experience Level: 3 to 7 years in VFX, Animation, Gaming, or Enterprise M&E Infrastructure
Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management & Maintenance
- Monitor, configure, and maintain local systems infrastructure, including high-density blade servers, workstations, and network switches.
- Oversee and optimize high-performance storage arrays (NAS/SAN) configured for real-time uncompressed 4K/8K playback and heavy caching.
- Support and scale the local render farm nodes, managing task distribution software (e.g., Deadline, Tractor) to maximize computational efficiency.
- Implement routine system updates, patches, firmware upgrades, and security protocols without disrupting rolling artist schedules.
- Administer heterogeneous environments heavily reliant on Linux (CentOS, Rocky Linux, RHEL) alongside Windows workstation environments.
- Manage cross-platform user access control using Active Directory (AD), LDAP, and FreeIPA identity systems.
- Write, test, and deploy automated shell scripts (Bash, Python, PowerShell) to optimize repetitive tasks, monitor system health, and parse system log files.
Network & Security Operations
- Maintain internal high-speed networks (10 GbE to 100 GbE architectures) to handle massive media file transfers securely.
- Enforce strict studio security parameters in line with Motion Picture Association (MPA) guidelines and Trusted Partner Network (TPN) compliance.
- Supervise firewall rules, internal routing, secure VPN connections, and localized subnets to protect intellectual property.
Technical Support & Collaboration
- Act as the Tier-2 and Tier-3 technical escalation path for on-site artists, technical directors, and production managers.
- Collaborate with our global core technology teams based in North America and East Asia to align local workflows with global standards.
- Document local environment configurations, hardware deployments, network topologies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Technical Skills & Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical certification.
- Core OS Proficiency: Strong system administration skills in Linux environments (RedHat, CentOS, Rocky Linux) and Windows Server environments.
- Network & Storage Mastery: Deep understanding of networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing) and enterprise storage solutions (NFS, SMB/CIFS, Isilon, Pixit).
- Scripting capabilities: Functional proficiency in Python or Bash scripting to create automated tools for system configuration.
Preferred (Plus) Attributes
- Direct infrastructure experience within VFX, Post-Production, Gaming, or Animation studios.
- Familiarity with industry-standard pipeline tools and software licensing configurations (RLM, FlexLM) for tools like Autodesk Maya, SideFX Houdini, Nuke, or Unreal Engine.
- Exposure to cloud hybrid rendering setups (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure).
