Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) in Bengaluru is seeking a System Software Engineer (L2/L3) to design and implement high-performance networking software for enterprise platforms. You will work on forwarding plane, datapath infra and Linux-based systems across on-prem, virtualized, and cloud environments.

The role focuses on building scalable networking software, debugging performance challenges, and collaborating with senior engineers to drive the future of enterprise networking.

Qualifications

• Proficient in C/C++ with strong Linux systems programming background.
• Experience with socket programming and multithreading in networked environments.
• Strong understanding of IPC, shared memory, synchronization, and system calls.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP networking, routing, and network protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-performance software for Aruba's enterprise WLAN Controller platforms.
• Build and enhance forwarding plane/datapath infrastructure for scale, reliability, and performance.
• Work across Linux systems, embedded software, networking protocols, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems.
• Debug and optimize complex networking, performance, and scalability issues.
• Develop solutions spanning on-prem appliances, virtualized environments, and public cloud deployments.
