Job summary

Tarana Wireless, Inc. is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop, and integrate key elements of system software for gigabit wireless communication systems.

You will independently lead features from requirements through design and documentation, collaborating with local and remote team members. The role emphasizes C++ on Linux, network protocol design, and performance optimization for embedded hardware platforms.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Computer Science/Engineering with 6–12 years of experience; ME/MTech/MS/PhD preferred with 4–6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong C++ programming experience.
• Experience with Linux-based development: debugging, user and kernel tracing, benchmarking.
• Deep understanding of Linux programming: IPCs, multi-threading, socket programming, system programming.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networks and protocols.
• Familiar with protobuf, gtest, gmock, grpc, and Bazel is desirable.
• Knowledge of Python, Go, Bash scripting is a plus.
• Experience with Git and ticket systems.

You will be working on the design, development, and integration of critical elements of system software for our gigabit wireless communication systems.

You need to have the ability to work independently, communicate ideas clearly, lead features (requirements, design, documentation) to their completion, understand issues, and come up with optimal solutions to resolve them on time. You should be passionate and excited to learn continuously and collaborate with other local/remote team members.

Required Skills & Experience:

• B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science/Engineering with experience ranging between 6 - 12 years. M.E./M.Tech./MS/PhD is preferred with 4 - 6 years of relevant experience.
• C++ programming experience
• Experience with Linux-based development: debugging, user and kernel tracing, benchmarking
• Deep understanding of Linux programming: IPCs, multi-threading, socket programming, system programming
• Knowledge of computer networks (TCP/IP), protocols, Internet architecture
• Working knowledge of protobuf, gtest, gmock, grpc, build tools (bazel) is desirable
• Knowledge of Python, Go, Bash scripting is a plus
• Experience with version control systems (git), collaboration tools (ticket systems)

Extensive knowledge in any of the following areas is preferred:

• Cloud networking protocols, security (TLS, crypto)
• Embedded software development, especially kernel drivers
• RF or wireless protocol development
