Job summary

Cognyte is seeking an experienced System & Network Engineer – Expert in India to manage enterprise datacenter environments, deploy VMware vSphere, and lead automation efforts. You will oversee monitoring with Prometheus/Grafana, and collaborate with R&D teams to resolve complex infrastructure challenges.

The role requires strong Linux/Windows administration, networking knowledge at CCNA level, and scripting skills in Bash and Python.

Qualifications

• 10–12 years of progressive experience in enterprise data center environments, specializing in infrastructure management, systems administration, and platform engineering.
• 5 years of Linux troubleshooting.
• 7 years of experience as a System Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar role in enterprise environments.
• 5 years of hands‑on expertise with VMware vSphere installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Hands‑on debugging of network issues in a large virtual environment.
• Hands‑on with enterprise compute and storage hardware.
• Hands‑on with monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
• Strong background in Linux and Windows administration.
• Understanding of network administration concepts (routing, VLANs, firewalls, load balancing), equivalent to CCNA‑level proficiency (minimum).
• Proficiency in Bash/Shell and Python scripting.
• Ability to lead multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve any kind of problem.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities across multi‑functional teams.
• High attention to detail and accountability for system reliability.
• Commitment to operational excellence and continuous learning.
