Job summary

Kirloskar Brothers Limited in Pune is seeking a mechanical engineer to lead system engineering for pumping systems and hydro power schemes. You will prepare schematics, general arrangements, and technical specifications for pumps, turbines, valves, and related equipment, supporting site and purchase activities.

The role requires sizing calculations for AC/ventilation, fire fighting, pump head, and equipment layouts; you will resolve on-site mechanical issues and contribute to proposal and detail

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Indian & International codes and standards must be demonstrated.
• Shall have hands-on operation of AutoCAD, MS Excel and related software.
• Good verbal & written communication is essential.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Checking Pump selection, PHGA drawing, pumping system layouts, hydro power layouts.
• Sizing of equipment such as pumps, valves, cranes, forebay equipment, OPU, MIV, and other auxiliaries.
• Designing auxiliary cooling water, drainage, dewatering, piping, and support systems.
• Crane sizing, AC ventilation sizing, and piping/layout checks.
• Resolving on-site mechanical issues and supporting proposal & detail engineering.

Summary /Purpose of the role

The purpose of this role is to: -

• System engineering for mechanical scope of work.
• Shall prepare schematic and general arrangement for pumping system and Hydro Power scheme.
• Shall prepare technical specifications for various mechanical equipments (like Pump, turbine, valves, REJ, Crane, piping, OPU, LOS, Gear box Piping) Give technical support to site, purchase for offer evaluation.
• Shall prepare AC and ventilation system sizing calculation, Fire fighting system calculation, Pump Head calculation.
• Shall be able to resolve site issue related to mechanical activities.
• Shall give technical assist during proposal engineering and detail engineering work.
• Shall do feasibility, capability study and preparation of design basis report of mechanical scope of work.

Key Responsibilities

• Checking of the Pump selection, PHGA drawing, pumping system layouts, hydro power layouts etc.
• Sizing of various equipment i.e., pump, valve, crane, auxiliary system, forebay equipment’s, OPU, MIV etc.
• Perform auxiliary cooling water system, drainage and dewatering system design.
• Perform crane sizing, AC Ventilation sizing, piping design, support plate design etc.
• Check of various Layouts of auxiliary systems, forebay side equipment’s, delivery side equipment’s.

Skills

• Knowledge of Indian & International codes and standards.
• Having hands on operation AutoCAD, MS excel and software.
• Shall have good verbal & written communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite.
• Conceptual knowledge of the basic mechanical design aspects.
