Job summary

Kyndryl in India is seeking a System Engineer to configure, maintain and optimize the core Mainframe z/OS infrastructure that supports mission-critical workloads. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to respond to issues.

You will ensure stability, performance, security and high availability across z/OS services (OS, automation, storage, DB/DC: DB2, CICS, IMS), contributing to root-cause analysis and continuous improvement and ongoing modernization.

Qualifications

• Technical college degree and/or relevant work experience.
• Key skills including knowledge of ISPF, JES2, JCL, REXX, SMP/E, PCOMM, Parallel Sysplex, Disaster Recovery and product maintenance/upgrades.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and resolving complex system / infrastructure issues.
• Knowledge of system programming practices for specific role.
• Experience working within structured processes such as incident, problem, change and inventory management.
• Demonstrated focus on delivering reliable outcomes for customer environments.

The Role

As a System Engineer, you will play a key role in the configuration, maintenance and optimization of core Mainframe z/OS infrastructure that support mission critical enterprise workloads. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to respond to system issues and implement solutions, while also contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts.

You will ensure stability, performance, security, and high availability of the environment within your role in one of the following areas: Base Operating Systems Management, Configuration Management, Automation Support, Scheduling Management, Storage Management, Performance & Capacity Management, Output Services, Logical Security, Production Control, DB/DC (Database / Data Communication) support (DB2, CICS, IMS), Omegamon Support, MQ Support and Networking Support.

Success in this role is demonstrated by timely resolution of technical issues, platform stability and high customer satisfaction.
