Job summary

Valeo is seeking an Engineering Disciplines Manager to lead the System discipline within a project, owning budget execution, QCD performance, and design reuse.

You will mentor discipline designers, collaborate with the Discipline Engineering Manager and the R&D leaders to ensure alignment with the project plan, timeline, and technical specifications. This role is based in Chennai, India, within a global tech company committed to greener mobility.

Responsibilities

• Budget execution for the System within the assigned project.

• Drive design solutions and reuse within the project.
• Support System QRQC and drive continuous design improvements.
• Manage System QRQC corrections with guidance from leadership.
• Support System Competency Development of the design team.
• Execute Discipline Efficiency Plan within the project.
• Collaborate with Discipline Engineering Manager and Team Leader on budget, design, quality and efficiency.
• Coordinate with R&D Technical Project Leader for integrated system design.

Job Responsibilities and Competencies

• Responsible for the following Budget: Responsible for Project System Budget execution: Execute the System budget within the assigned project, ensuring alignment with the overall project budget and System Discipline budget guidelines provided by the System Engineering Manager of the entity.
• Support Operations: Responsible for Project Discipline QCD Management: Lead the team responsible for Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) performance of the System discipline within the assigned project, adhering to standardized methodologies, System project dashboard and KPIs defined by the Group/Division and followed by the System Engineering Manager and Discipline Team Leader.
• Responsible for System Technical Review execution and corrective action plan within the project.
• Drive design solutions & reuse within the assigned project.
• Competencies: Support System Discipline QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control): Identify discipline issues in standard, method, tools, test means for ensuring rapid resolution of technical issues and continuous improvement in design execution.
• Responsible for Project System QRQC, ensuring management of the correction of major technical issues with the support of the entity System engineering manager and the relevant System Experts.
• Support System Competency Development of the System design team within the project.
• Efficiency: Execute Discipline Efficiency Plan within the assigned project.
• Collaboration and Influence: Collaborate with Discipline Engineering Manager and Discipline Team Leader: Maintain regular communication and alignment with the Discipline Engineering Manager and Discipline Team Leader on budget performance, design execution, quality control, and efficiency initiatives.
• Collaborate with R&D Technical Project Leader: Work closely with the R&D Technical Project Leader to ensure seamless integration of the System design within the overall project plan, timeline, and technical specifications.
• Lead and Mentor Discipline Designers: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to Discipline Designers working on the project, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• R= Responsible in charge of activities/ deliverable - can be shared with more than one person A= Accountable, in charge of activities/ deliverables approbation
