Job summary

Hops Healthcare in India seeks an Algorithm & Systems Engineer with Python/C++ to design, develop, and optimize algorithms for real-world product problems.

You will apply strong Data Structures & Algorithms concepts to build efficient, scalable solutions, handle time-series and sensor data, and collaborate across Firmware, Hardware, Backend, AI/ML, and Product teams to deliver robust, production-grade software.

Job description

Position : Algorithm & Systems Engineer Python/C++

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize algorithms for real-world engineering and product problems.
• Apply strong Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA)concepts to develop efficient and scalable solutions.
• Analyze complex problems and convert them into well-defined computational solutions.
• Develop software components for processing, analyzing, and interpreting time-series, sensor, or device-generated data.
• Work with large or continuous data streams and develop efficient data-processing approaches.
• Optimize algorithms for performance, memory usage, latency, and reliability.
• Design and implement software modules that interact with product, device, or data-processing systems.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and improve computational efficiency.
• Handle edge cases, noisy data, and real-world constraints while designing solutions.
• Collaborate with Firmware, Hardware, Backend, AI/ML, and Product teamsas required.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, and production-ready code.
• Participate in technical discussions, architecture and design decisions, and code reviews.
• Contribute to product development from problem definition through implementation, testing, and optimization.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA).
• Strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Hands-on programming experience in C++, Python, or another strong programming language.
• Ability to design algorithms independently rather than only implementing predefined solutions.
• Good understanding of algorithmic complexity, including time and space complexity.
• Experience building software systems or technically complex software components.
• Ability to work with data and reason about patterns, performance, and edge cases.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including debugging, testing, and version control.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with time-series data or continuous data streams.
• Experience with signal processing, data filtering, anomaly detection, or pattern detection.
• Experience working with sensor or device-generated data.
• Experience with IoT or hardware-connected software systems.
• Experience in healthcare, medical devices, digital health, or similar product environments.
• Strong C++ programmingexperience.
• Experience using Pythonfor data processing, algorithm implementation, or system development.
• Exposure to numerical computing, scientific computing, or statistical methods.
• Experience working in a product-based organization.

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• Candidates with strong practical experience and exceptional programming and algorithmic skills may also be considered.
