Job summary

You will coordinate design goals, oversee change requests, align solutions with business strategy, mentor staff, and work with cross-functional teams to drive successful project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS or related field.
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS Certified Solutions Architect preferred.
• TOGAF certification preferred.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Experience in a similar senior role within a large organization.
• Strong project management experience.

Your day at NTT DATA The Senior Team Lead, Systems Design/Architecture is a developing management role, responsible for providing tactical and operational coordination of the activities of a team of systems design/architecture professionals in system design activities to ensure that architectural solutions meet technical and functional requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Provides tactical and operational management in the system design activities.
• Coordinates the identification of design goals and creates system architecture plans.
• Works with the team to ensure that architectural solutions meet technical and functional requirements.
• Coordinates the investigation and scoping of change requests to determine the scale of work to be done and estimates the timeframe and input required.
• Determines system loads and volumes as input into infrastructure requirements.
• Ensures that proposed and existing systems architectures are aligned with the company’s goals and strategies.
• Accountable for the coordination of design and development of new systems and solutions.
• Ensures that new systems and solutions conform to current system architecture and/or aligns to strategic system architectural direction.
• Identifies potential risks and challenges in the system design and architecture.
• Ensures that system architecture is delivered in the form of robust and scalable solutions to business problems and needs.
• Ensures the specification of solutions functional and technical requirements, and implementation phases required in order to deliver on and solve complex business problems.
• Coordinates the implementation of processes for integrating architectural solutions.
• Works closely with cross-functional teams, to define system requirements, resolve technical issues, and ensure successful project execution.
• Coordinates the activities of a team of architects and engineers, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
• Fosters a collaborative environment that promotes knowledge sharing and innovation.

• Familiarity with various architectural patterns and frameworks.
• In-depth knowledge of programming languages.
• Understanding of databases, networking, and infrastructure components.
• Team management skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire team members, foster innovation, and get results.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes, evaluate trade-offs, and make sound decisions.
• Proficient in designing and architecting complex systems.
• Communication, presentation and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations, such as cybersecurity and data privacy.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.

Academic qualifications and certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
• Recommended certifications such as Cloud (Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect); TOGAF preferred.

Required experience:

• Solid experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with various stakeholders.
• Solid experience coordinating the activities of technically skilled teams.
• Solid experience in a similar role within a large-scale organization.
• Project management experience.
