Overview

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a System Administrator / SysOps Engineer in India.

As a System Administrator / SysOps Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing mission-critical infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance across Linux, Windows, and cloud environments. You will work in a fast-paced, 24/7/365 support model, collaborating with technical teams to troubleshoot issues, implement automation, and enhance system reliability. The role involves hands-on work with virtualization, storage, networking, and cloud services, as well as scripting and deployment of software solutions. You will contribute directly to operational excellence, system modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely while being part of a technically skilled, collaborative, and dynamic team.

Accountabilities
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows servers, VMWare environments, and NAS/SAN infrastructure.
  • Manage cloud environments and virtualized systems with a focus on high availability and scalability.
  • Administer G-Suite and integrate Single Sign-On (SSO) with Active Directory.
  • Monitor system performance, implement automation tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible), and manage backups and data recovery.
  • Configure and maintain DNS, email (SMTP, IMAP, POP), and SFTP services.
  • Participate in 24/7/365 on-call rotations to provide critical support for business operations.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to plan and deploy new infrastructure projects, updates, and security patches.
Qualifications
  • 5–12 years of hands-on experience in Linux/Windows administration, VMWare, storage systems, and cloud services.
  • Proficiency with Linux server builds, Microsoft server OS, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms.
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud environments is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of RAS tools (Citrix, Parallels) and high-throughput database server management.
  • Strong scripting skills in Shell, Perl, Python, or similar languages.
  • Experience with configuration management, automation, and monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with storage systems (NetApp, EMC, Pure Storage) and NAS/SAN management.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams.
  • Willingness to work US time zones and participate in on-call rotations.
