Job summary

Northern Lights Technology Development is seeking an experienced IBM i/Synon-2E developer in Chennai. The role involves designing, coding, testing, and maintaining legacy systems with RPG/RPGLE/CL on IBM i. You will work with business analysts and offshore teams to deliver robust solutions.

Required 7-10+ years of hands-on Synon/2E and IBM i experience, with strong DB2/400 and SQL skills. Knowledge of change management tools and domain exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years hands-on experience in Synon/2E and IBM i environments.
• Strong proficiency in RPG, RPGLE, and CL with DB2/400 and SQL experience.
• Familiarity with change management tools such as Implementer or Aldon/ACMS.
• Experience in Retail, Finance, or Pharmacy Claims domains is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Application Development Design, develop, and test applications using Synon/2E (CA 2E), RPG/RPGLE, and CL.
• Maintenance & Support Provide end-to-end production support, troubleshoot issues, and enhance legacy systems.
• Technical Analysis Conduct impact analysis and modify existing models and generated code as required.
• Documentation Prepare low-level design documents (LLDs), technical specifications, and system documentation.
• Collaboration Work closely with business analysts, functional teams, and global/offshore teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

BE/B Tech or any Engineering and Computer science stream

Required Skills

• Experience: 7-10+ years of hands-on experience in Synon/2E (CA 2E) and IBM i (AS/400) environments
• Programming Expertise: Strong proficiency in RPG, RPGLE, and CL - Database Knowledge: Experience with DB2/400 and SQL
• Tools: Familiarity with change management tools such as Implementer or Aldon/ACMS
