Job summary

SymphonyAI is seeking a Consultant Forecaster / Data Scientist to support demand forecasting and replenishment for retail customers. This UK-facing, customer-facing role focuses on production support and continuous improvement of forecasting processes.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with forecasting models, Python, and data analysis, and can collaborate with customers to improve forecast accuracy and planning performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3 to 6 years of experience in demand forecasting, data science, supply chain analytics, or retail planning.
• Strong understanding of demand planning, replenishment, and forecast accuracy measurement.
• Hands-on experience with Python, Pandas, and data analysis techniques.
• Experience with Docker, GitHub, and model deployment or support processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a customer-facing environment and collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Forecasting & Planning Support : Provide daily demand forecasts to customers and ensure forecast outputs are delivered accurately and on time.
• Run and monitor the DFAI module to support forecasting and replenishment activities.
• Maintain forecasting configurations, parameters, and business rules to ensure optimal system performance.
• Analyze forecast performance, identify root causes for variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Data Analysis & Model Performance : Review forecast accuracy metrics and identify opportunities to improve model performance.
• Analyze large volumes of retail and supply chain data to identify patterns, trends, and business insights.
• Work with internal teams and customer stakeholders to improve forecast quality and replenishment effectiveness.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to forecasting approaches, parameters, and processes.
• Technical Support & Automation : Use Python and related tools to automate processes, perform data analysis, and support model monitoring activities.
• Work with Docker, GitHub, and related development tools to manage code, deployments, and workflows.
• Support issue resolution, troubleshooting, and validation of forecast outputs.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to address system issues and implement improvements.
• Customer Engagement & Reporting : Engage directly with customer stakeholders to review forecast results, discuss performance, and address concerns.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and summaries related to forecast accuracy and business performance.
• Support regular customer meetings and provide recommendations for process optimization.
• Maintain clear documentation of forecasting logic, model assumptions, and process updates.

Key Responsibilities
