Job summary

Smytten is seeking a data-driven Demand Forecasting professional to own forecasting for ecommerce and retail channels. You will build forecasts across products, categories, and channels, working with Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance to drive inventory availability and planning accuracy.

You will analyze historical data, seasonality, and promotions, monitor forecast accuracy, and improve forecasting methods. Strong Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Python skills are valued.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Demand Forecasting / Demand Planning.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel; SQL, Power BI, Python experience is an advantage.
• Experience in ecommerce, retail, FMCG, beauty or consumer businesses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain demand forecasts across products, categories, and channels.
• Analyse historical sales data, seasonality, trends, promotions, and inputs to create forecasts.
• Collaborate with Sales, Category, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Finance to embed insights.
• Monitor forecast accuracy and identify deviations, risks, and opportunities.
• Conduct forecast vs. actual analysis and identify root causes of variances.
• Support inventory planning by flagging overstock and stock-out risks.
• Incorporate promotions, new launches, seasonality, and market trends into models.
• Build forecasting reports/dashboards using Excel and analytical tools.
• Continuously improve forecasting methodologies and processes.

We are looking for a data-driven Demand Forecasting professional who can own demand forecasting and help improve inventory availability, planning accuracy, and business performance across our ecommerce and retail channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain demand forecasts across products, categories, and channels.
• Analyse historical sales data, seasonality, trends, promotions, and business inputs to create accurate forecasts.
• Work closely with Sales, Category, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Finance teams to incorporate business insights into forecasts.
• Monitor forecast accuracy and identify key deviations, risks, and opportunities.
• Conduct forecast vs. actual analysis and identify root causes of variances.
• Support inventory planning by identifying potential overstock and stock-out risks.
• Incorporate promotional activities, new product launches, seasonality, and market trends into forecasting models.
• Build and maintain forecasting reports/dashboards using Excel and relevant analytical tools.
• Continuously improve forecasting methodologies and processes based on business requirements.

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in Demand Forecasting / Demand Planning.

Important

This role requires someone who has hands-on experience in forecasting. Candidates whose experience begins only after the forecast is provided (pure planning/replenishment roles) may not be the right fit.
