Job summary

Philips Iberica SAU in Bengaluru, India, is seeking an experienced Android technologist to design, develop, and maintain production-grade mobile apps. You will work with cross-functional teams and mentor code quality while leveraging AI-assisted tools to boost productivity.

The role requires 5–9 years of Android experience, strong Kotlin/Java skills, and expertise in Android Jetpack components, with an office-based setup requiring in-person collaboration several days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 -9 years of experience in Android application development.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
• Expertise in Android SDK, Android Studio, and Gradle.
• Experience with MVVM, Clean Architecture, and Android Jetpack components.
• Strong knowledge of Retrofit, OkHttp, REST APIs, and JSON.
• Experience with Room Database, WorkManager, Navigation Component, and Dependency Injection (Hilt/Dagger).
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
• Experience using AI-powered coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar tools to enhance development workflows.
• Ability to evaluate, refine, and productionize AI-generated code while ensuring maintainability and security.

Responsibilities
