Job summary

Extremenetworks is seeking a senior network software engineer in Bengaluru to own advanced data plane and control plane software. The role emphasizes deep expertise in L2/L3, VXLAN, ACL, QOS, and Linux-based embedded development.

You will work with BCM XGS/DNX chipsets, go across multi-site teams, and deliver complete components with strong debugging and performance optimization skills. Excellent problem-solving and learning on the job are required.

Qualifications

• 8-13 years of experience in networking software.
• Strong understanding of L2/L3, VXLAN, ACL, QOS.
• Hands-on BCM XGS/DNX chipset programming preferable.
• Strong routing and control plane concepts.
• Linux embedded software development.
• Proficient in C.
• Exposure to Go and microservices.
• Troubleshooting memory leaks and performance bottlenecks.
• Experience with multi-site projects.
• Able to learn on the job and take on challenges.

Experience: 8-13 Years

• Strong understanding of networking data plane forwarding concepts in the following areas - L2, L3, VXLAN, MCT, ACL, QOS
• Hands on experience of programming BCM based XGS & DNX family of chipsets is preferable.
• Strong understanding of routing algorithms, data structures.
• Strong understanding of control plane networking concepts
• In-depth understanding of Linux operating systems and embedded software development
• Excellent programming knowledge in C
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exposure to GO and microservices architecture.
• Experience in trouble shooting & debugging memory leaks, performance bottlenecks -
• Experience working with multi-site project teams.
• Ability to learn on the job and ready to take up challenges.
• Should be able to implement and handle the complete delivery of the component/modules owned
• Ability to be productive in flexible and dynamic work environments.
