Job summary

Extreme Networks in Bengaluru is seeking a senior networking engineer with 12+ years of experience in data plane forwarding, routing, and embedded Linux software development. The role emphasizes C programming and strong problem-solving skills in a dynamic, multi-site environment.

You will work with BCM XGS and DNX chipsets, contribute to Go-based microservices, and deliver complete component modules while learning on the job and adapting to flexible project needs.

Qualifications

• Experience spanning networking data plane forwarding (L2/L3, VXLAN, ACL, QOS).
• Strong programming skills in C; Linux and embedded software development.
• Experience with memory leak debugging and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with Go and microservices architecture.
• Ability to lead delivery of components/modules in a multi-site setup.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of networking components/modules.
• Collaborate with multi-site teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and memory leaks.

• Hands on experience of programming BCM based XGS & DNX family of chipsets is preferable.


• Strong understanding of routing algorithms, data structures.


• Strong understanding of control plane networking concepts


• In-depth understanding of Linux operating systems and embedded software development


• Excellent programming knowledge in C


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


• Exposure to GO and microservices architecture.


• Experience in trouble shooting & debugging memory leaks, performance bottlenecks -


• Experience working with multi-site project teams.


• Ability to learn on the job and ready to take up challenges.


• Should be able to implement and handle the complete delivery of the component/modules owned


• Ability to be productive in flexible and dynamic work environments.
