Quantitative Research Specialist (Survey Programmer)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Primary Research Specialist to join our dynamic team and contribute to our survey-based research efforts. As a Primary Research Specialist, you will be an important contributor to the analytics, data strategy, and research agenda for BBDO NY. You will be part of a growing capability responsible for executing primary quantitative research and establishing a data-driven culture.

The Survey Programmer will be responsible for programming, testing, and maintaining online surveys using our preferred survey platforms. This role requires close collaboration with project managers, researchers, and data analysts to ensure surveys are accurately programmed to meet project specifications and deadlines.


Responsibilities


On any given day you will…

  1. Program online surveys using platforms such as Forsta, OnePulse, CMix or similar platforms.
  2. Implement complex survey logic, question types, and data validation rules.
  3. Customize survey appearance and functionality using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as needed.
  4. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand research needs and design appropriate survey instruments.
  5. Partner with teams to align survey timelines with demanding project schedules.
  6. Communicate with project managers to align survey timelines with overall project schedules.
  7. Test surveys thoroughly to identify and fix programming errors or logic issues.
  8. Monitor survey deployments and provide technical support during the data collection phase.
  9. Assist data analysts by ensuring data collected is accurate and in the correct format.

Qualifications


Experience / Qualifications

  1. 1-2 years hands-on experience programming surveys.
  2. Strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
  3. Knowledge of survey design principles, including question phrasing, response scales, and survey flow.
  4. Experience with analysis tools (e.g., crosstabs, weighting, etc.).
  5. Experience working with English and/or UK brands or teams.
  6. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  7. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  9. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
