Job summary

TE Connectivity Bengaluru seeks an experienced SUPV III PRODUCTION to lead aerospace manufacturing operations, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people.

With 12+ years in manufacturing, you will drive lean initiatives, manage unions, and ensure AS9100 compliance, NPI support, and rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or production engineering.
  • 12+ years of aerospace/defense or manual assembly manufacturing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, EHS and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience leading teams of 50-150 in a low volume high mix manufacturing environment.
  • Min 10+ years of union leadership/handling union employees.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production activities and guide teams to meet production schedules and commitments.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, customer specifications, and aerospace quality standards.
  • Manage production planning, capacity planning, manpower allocation, and line balancing.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives including Kaizen, 5S, VSM, and waste elimination.
  • Improve OEE, FPY, and overall process efficiency; monitor KPIs and take corrective actions.
  • Lead root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and CAPA methodologies.
  • Support NPI, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and process validation.
  • Ensure product traceability, configuration control, and aerospace documentation adherence.

Job Overview

Experienced Production Assistant Manager with 12+ years of expertise in aerospace manufacturing, manual assembly, and production operations. Proven ability to lead high-performing manufacturing teams while ensuring compliance with AS9100, EHS standards, and customer quality requirements. Strong background in production planning, Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, manpower management (Industrial Relation), and operational excellence with a focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP).

Job Requirements
  • Lead daily production activities and guide FLL's to achieve production schedules, customer commitments, and business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, customer specifications, and aerospace quality standards.
  • Manage production planning, capacity planning, manpower allocation, and line balancing.
  • Making Effective Recovery Plans to recover production losses & satisfy customers.
  • Drive Automation of processes in production.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives including Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and waste elimination.
  • Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), labour productivity, First Pass Yield (FPY), and Overall Process Efficiency.
  • Monitor production KPIs and implement corrective actions to achieve operational targets.
  • Lead root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and CAPA methodologies.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and process validation.
  • Ensure product traceability, configuration control, and strict adherence to aerospace documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Planning, and Procurement teams to resolve production issues.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and promote a zero-incident safety culture.
  • Develop team capability through coaching, performance management, and skill development.
  • Monitoring BBS & ensuring usage of PPE's in the shop floor
  • Drive productivity improvement, cost reduction, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Ensure audit readiness for customer, regulatory, and internal audits.
  • Evaluates and suggests alternative production methods for continuous improvement.
  • Review process PPM, analysing the problems and taking effective countermeasures
What your background should look like
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering.
  • 12+ years of experience in aerospace, defence, or Manual assembly manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, EHS, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience leading teams of 50-150 employees in a low volume high mix manufacturing environment.
  • Min 10+ years of experience in handling union employees.
