Supply Chain Planning Supervisor
Accountable for ensuring production plans and material purchasing are executed to ensure efficient, cost‑effective, and reliable production aligned with business objectives and capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for ensuring production plans and material purchasing are executed to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and reliable production aligned with business objectives and capabilities.
- Develop and maintain production master plan for the medium‑long term to meet customer demands and optimize manufacturing efficiency for lubricant products.
- Support and drive planning and scheduling teams to deliver measurable results and supports organizational supply chain transformation goals.
- Proactively drive close coordination between production, S&OP and other stakeholders teams to ensure timely delivery of plans, efficient resource use, and inventory control.
- Coordinate, communicate, align: Ensure all team's plans are implemented in a timely and effective manner on a daily basis to support the efficient running of the business.
- Lead the teams to implement new processes, technologies, and policies as necessary to ensure best practices are followed.
- Collaborate with S&OP, logistics, manufacturing, and IT teams to ensure alignment and integration of plans.
- Track production progress, resolve bottlenecks, and communicate any changes to stakeholders.
- Track the measurement of team KPIs and work towards their continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of the production and purchasing process and ensure planning system parameters are maintained.
- Support supply chain activities for cross‑functional projects to drive product/customer changes, enhance supply chain capabilities/efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels ensuring alignment with supply chain/business objectives and compliance standards.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by mentoring team members and sharing best practices.
- Support S&OP and S&OE processes directly interacting in the process and through the team.
- Work with the S&OP Manager to set overall network strategy and direction.
- Work with the Regional Supply Managers to understand raw material supply and prioritize initiatives with Marketing, Product Management and other stakeholders.
- Work with Supply Chain capability teams and specialists to understand capabilities and gaps, how we are operating, and determine opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Regional Demand Planners and participate in the relevant S&OP to facilitate the execution of the plan.
- Lead the team to continuously improve the operation of the Supply Chain in the Region, and to initiate, manage, and close critical projects.
- Ensure all activities conform to the expectations set forth in the Brand and Controls Frameworks.
- Ensure BCP set up is in place to cover for backup eventualities.
- Execute Strategic Change Initiatives
- Identify, develop, and execute supply chain improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, cost‑effectiveness, and performance where possible.
- Analyze current supply chain processes, identify gaps, and recommend solutions using best practices (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Analyze supply chain capability and gaps, coordinate aligned changes to support overall business and supply chain objectives.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on project progress and results to senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Operations Research (or related fields such as Applied Mathematics/Statistics).
- 5+ years relevant work experience in supply chain network or supplier management.
- Experience supporting supply chain activities for large‑scale operations preferred (particularly in Oil & Gas and FMCG).
- Understand Supply Chain Fundamentals and Supply & Demand Principles.
- Proficient in SAP Systems and MS Excel.
- Supervisory experience.
- Project Management experience.
- Supplier Management experience.
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
- Ability to work independently and without direct supervision.
- Function effectively in a team environment, including virtual environments.
- Strong judgment, including ability to make quality decisions.
- Strong persuasion/communication skills and influence without direct authority.
- Experience in supply planning roles in Chemical, FMCG, CPG, Manufacturing, and E‑Commerce preferred.
- Experience in petrochemical production/manufacturing processes preferred.
- 3+ years relevant supervisory experience in supply chain network.
- Experience in project management and complex coordination as well as Production Planning.
- Experience in conducting analyses and providing data‑driven recommendations for S&OP processes.
- Experience in network, product flow optimization, deployment/replenishment planning for large‑scale supply chain (particularly Oil & Gas/FMCG/CPG).
- Experience in conducting analyses and providing recommendations for supply planning problems using SAP IBP/APO, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, Tableau, PowerBi for visualization.
- Knowledge of Power Query, Excel.
- Knowledge of R and/or Python for scripting is preferred.
- Strong performer with ability to prioritize work strategically and independently while also functioning well within a global, virtual team.
- Proven self‑starter with strong collaboration and influence management skills; able to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
