Job description

The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and maintaining daily supply chain operations across one or more functional areas, including material planning, production planning, inventory management, logistics, demand management, customer service, and order fulfillment. The role ensures alignment between supply and demand while meeting internal and external customer expectations. Working in a global supply chain environment, the Supply Chain Planner collaborates with suppliers, manufacturing sites, logistics providers, and cross-functional stakeholders to optimize inventory, improve supplier performance, mitigate supply risks, and drive continuous process improvements across regional and global operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, execute, and maintain supply and material plans that align with customer demand while balancing inventory, production capacity, and logistics requirements.

  • Plan and manage end-to-end material flow across global supply networks, including suppliers, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and regional operations.

  • Monitor and optimize planning parameters within ERP and planning systems to improve planning accuracy and ensure consistent supply chain signals.

  • Analyze supply chain performance using key performance indicators (KPIs), identify performance gaps, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

  • Identify and proactively mitigate supply risks related to supplier capacity, material shortages, logistics constraints, long lead times, geopolitical disruptions, and transportation delays.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to improve delivery performance, capacity commitments, order fulfillment, and On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) performance.

  • Coordinate with procurement, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, customer service, and regional planning teams to ensure effective execution of supply plans.

  • Manage inventory strategies across multiple supply chain nodes, including origin, in-transit, and destination inventory, while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.

  • Monitor shipment pipelines and logistics performance, ensuring accurate delivery tracking and timely escalation of potential delays.

  • Support engineering change implementation, part lifecycle management, and material planning activities while minimizing operational disruptions.

  • Apply Plan for Every Part (PFEP), Master Supply Scheduling, and Material Planning principles to improve planning efficiency and material availability.

  • Evaluate cost, service, and inventory trade-offs to support effective supply chain decision-making.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, process optimization, and participation in cross-functional improvement teams.

  • Maintain effective communication across global stakeholders while supporting supply continuity and operational excellence.

Skills and Experience
  • Significant experience in supply planning, material planning, inventory management, or broader supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working in global supply chain environments supporting multiple regions, with exposure to Asia-to-North America and/or EMEA supply networks preferred.

  • Strong understanding of supply planning processes, demand planning, inventory optimization, production planning, logistics, and supplier management.

  • Experience using ERP and Advanced Planning Systems such as Oracle R12, Oracle ASCP/APCC, or equivalent supply planning platforms.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data analysis, business intelligence tools, and reporting platforms such as Power BI.

  • Knowledge of materials planning systems, Master Production Scheduling (MPS), PFEP methodology, engineering change management, and materials KPI management.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data, assess risks, and make informed business decisions.

  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve supply chain performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced global environment while balancing cost, service, and inventory objectives.

  • Strong stakeholder management, supplier collaboration, communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones.

  • High level of ownership, customer focus, adaptability, and commitment to continuous improvement.

Working Hours: This role supports global operations and requires working 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM IST to effectively collaborate with international stakeholders across multiple regions.
