Job summary

ATA Freight is seeking a Supply Base Manager to lead supplier relationships and 3PL partnerships across transport, warehousing, and distribution. You will drive strategic sourcing, monitor KPIs, and push continuous improvement in the supply base.

The role requires 7+ years in supply chain, strong ERP/ procurement tool familiarity, and a proven track record in cost optimization and risk management. Willingness to travel and collaborate with multiple functions is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, or Vendor Management.
• Proven SRM, 3PL management and logistics operations experience.
• Exposure to freight management, transportation (air/sea), warehousing, and distribution.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute supply base strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Manage supplier relationships for long-term collaboration and performance.
• Monitor supplier performance through KPIs (quality, delivery).
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and value engineering projects.
• Ensure supplier compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and ethics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, planning, customer service, finance, Dispatches, quality, operations).
• Know supply chain risk management and ERP procurement tools.
• Travel for supplier visits as needed.
• Define and track supplier KPIs (OTIF, transit time, cost, damages).

Role Overview:

The Supply Base Manager is responsible for developing and managing a high-performing supplier and logistics network to support business objectives. This role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and performance optimization across 3PL partners, transporters, and warehouse operations.

The position acts as a key link between procurement, operations, logistics, and external partners to ensure cost efficiency, service excellence, and supply chain reliability. It also drives continuous improvement initiatives, monitors supplier KPIs, and ensures compliance with organizational and regulatory standards while optimizing end-to-end logistics performance.

• Strong understanding of 3PL operations, freight management, and warehousing.

Experience & Qualification:

• Bachelors degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration (BBA), Commerce (B. Com), or a related field
• 7+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, or Vendor Management
• Proven experience in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), 3PL management, and logistics operations
• Strong exposure to freight management, transportation (air, sea), warehousing, and distribution networks
• Experience in supplier performance monitoring, KPI management (OTIF, lead time, cost), and continuous improvement initiatives
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and procurement tools
