Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a procurement professional to manage material purchase requests, supplier qualification, and contract execution in Bengaluru. You will support negotiations, bid analysis, and supplier performance tracking while ensuring compliance with policies and ERP/SOP procedures.

The role requires 2–3 years in procurement or supply chain, with knowledge of SAP/Ariba and strong English communication. This is a full-time, on-site position in Bengaluru, India.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or postgraduate degree.
• 2–3 years of experience in Procurement, Buyer, or Supply Chain.
• Basic knowledge of SAP, Ariba, and Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Execute material purchase requests per technical specs, price, delivery schedule and terms.
• Identify new suppliers and qualify them with Supplier Quality and Engineering specialists.
• Negotiate agreements with main suppliers and refresh pricelists and terms.
• Analyze bids to determine optimal value.
• Support bid and proposal teams with market information.
• Track goods received and verify delivery; process invoices per guidelines.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues within scope.
• Initiate supply orders in ERP and confirm delivery with suppliers.
• Ensure supplier orders meet content, quality, delivery, sustainability, and price requirements.
• Ensure compliance with internal/external regulations and Hitachi Energy policies.

Job description

The opportunity:

Executes material purchase requests, according to required technical specification, price, delivery schedule and terms. Ensure purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures under supervision.

How you'll make an impact:

• Recommends / supports in Identifying new suppliers and coordinates with relevant category team. Follows the process to qualify new suppliers in cooperation with Supplier Quality and Engineering specialists.

• Supports in negotiating agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews pricelists, terms and conditions and feeds back recommendations for appropriate actions. Adapts corporate contractual framework to the local business needs.

• Recommends frame agreements to management, ensures approved contractual terms in execution.

• Analyses and evaluates bids within the scope, in order to determine the optimal value.

• Support bid and proposal teams by providing relevant market information within the area of responsibility.

• Tracks goods received to verify appropriate delivery and ensure invoice processing as per available guidelines.

• Oversees supplier performance (on time delivery, quality, lead time), and recommends solutions / resolves performance issues within the scope.

• Initiates supply orders in the system, confirms delivery with suppliers, monitors and tracks supplier performance to purchase order requirements.

• supplier orders with customer requirements (based on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)/project requirements) in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability and price.

• Conduct all Supply Chain activities for all goods and services in accordance with policies and procedures. Ensures Pro-Supply global supplier relationship management platform is kept updated as defined in Pro-Supply procedure within the scope of activities.
  Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background:

• Bachelor's degree or postgraduate degree in any field.

• Should have 2-3 of experience in Procurement, Buyer, Supply Chain.

• Basic Knowledge of SAP, Ariba, and Microsoft Package

• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
